The unmarried Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) is desperate for a child, and is artificially inseminated through a sperm bank. Newly pregnant, but not yet showing and unaware of her pregnancy, she meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin), and the two start dating. Romantic complications ensue once she reveals to him she was pregnant when they met.
