Giant-Size BATMAN LEGO STATUE 2006 NY Comicon

Here are 2 extremely cool photos mailed in by a loyal Bat-Blog Reader who was lucky enough to get to go to the 2006 New York Comicon this year, last November. This is a super-giant-sized statue of THE DARK KNIGHT made entirely out of LEGOS LEGO PIECES!! OMG, look how BIG that thing is! It must have weighted 5 tons! This is one major comic book convention I would really love to go to. I've been hearing some great stories about it for years. Thanks Thomas for the great pics! We have more Batman Lego-Related photos in the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES so be sure to check those out too.

NEW YORK COMIC-CON February 23-24, 2007 NYC

The date for the next NEW YORK COMIC-CON will be on Feb 23rd & 24th, 2007 in New York City. There will be some BATMAN Artists & Writers there:

1. PAUL DINI was the Emmy Award-winning writer and co-producer of Batman Adventures, and the producer/writer of the Batman and Superman animated television series. Dini has won five Emmys for his television work and seven Eisners for his comic book work. He is currently writing the comic book adventures of the Batman in a critically acclaimed story arc in Detective Comics.

2. NEAL ADAMS is a towering figure in the world of comic book creation and art. Neal has had legendary ‘runs’ on Batman, X-Men, Green Lantern-Green Arrow and Deadman. Adams rescued Batman from the campy nostalgia of the television show, and re-fitted him in his present incarnation as an “Avenger of the Night.” When people say ‘modern Batman,’ they mean Neal Adams’ Batman. His run on Batman led directly to the new, more realistic incarnation in “Batman Returns” movie, which featured the character he created, Ras Al Ghul.

3. MICHAEL BAIR , Aztec Ace, the Huntress were early strips he 1st gained attention on. Young All-Stars,Secret Origins, Infinity Inc.,were some of the books pencilled, before switching primarily to inking with the Catwoman/mini-series.

4. SIMONE BIANCHI was born and lives in Lucca, Italy. After publishing 3 Artbooks and a sciencefiction trilogy (Ego Sum) in Europe, drawn and written by himself , in 2005 he painted and drew the DC miniseries of 4 issues SHINING KNIGHT, written by Grant Morrison. He did different covers for DC characters such as Green Lantern, Batman and Detective Comics and the interior pages of Green Lantern #6, script by Geoff Johns; after doing some X-Men unlimited covers for MARVEL, in February 2006 he signed an Exclusive Contract with MARVEL, for which he is drawing WOLVERINE issue #50 and the following 5, while still doing one Detective Comics cover a month.

And many many more! For more information check out their website.
