Video: 1966 BATMAN TV Show Batgirl Compilation - On the Batphone
Here's a video I thought was kind of interesting. It's a small collection of Batgirl ( Barbara Gordon ) clips when she used to sneak into her Father's office to use the Bat-Phone! He was the Gotham City Police Department's Commissioner Gordon after all, with a direct line to Batman! The whole thing is kind weird...check it out!

BATGIRL & BATMAN American Library PSA Posters

You know when you visit the library & you see those PSA posters of someone famous reading a book with the message "OPEN YOUR MIND, READ A BOOK TODAY". It's usually a sports star like Tiger Woods or a musician like Sting or Bono. Well, the company that makes them made two of 'em with DC Comics characters we all love...Batman & Batgirl ( Barbara Gordon ). The really weird thing is the company is based in Canada. Also, ya know how the Air Force pays $500 for a hammer because it's a government thing? Well, the same is almost true about these posters. OK, they are not $500 but they are really pricey! I was gonna buy one of these but I just can't justify $18.50 for a poster. That's a shame because I really like the graphic art & love the message about READING IS FUN. You can check them out, plus others, at http://accessola.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/batmanposter.html

BATGIRL SAYS VISIT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY! Public Service Announcement

I had to post this graphic image because it's kinda-sorta Batman related, I'll explain later, but the main reason is that it was created by a friend of mine named Rob Kelly & I'm kind of proud about it (is that wrong?). Well, anyways. This is a PSA (Public Service Announcement) POSTER featuring Yvonne Craig. The basic message is "Visit Your Local Library". Of course we all know and love her as the Actress who played Barbara Gordon in the 1960's BATMAN TV series. On that show her character, besides being Batgirl, was also a Librarian. So that does add a little irony to the concept, ha! Now I totally love Libraries more than anything. I visit them at least 3 or 4 times a month, checking out a large amount of books each time. In fact, a lot of Librarians actually know me by name, ha! So I am completely behind this message, "Visit Your Local Library"! One last thing before I end this post, I want to invite everybody to check out Rob's Illustration ART website. There's some really cool stuff there. Just click HERE!

New BATGIRL STATUE Kotobukia - DC Comics X Bishoujo Collection

Celebrating DC Comics' 75th Anniversary, Kotobukiya Statue is proud to debut the very first in a new line of beautiful bishoujo-inspired statues, BATGIRL! The DC X Bishoujo Collection combines DC's superheroines and villains with traditional Japanese style. It's based on original character art by world famous illustrator Shunya Yamashita! Sculpted by Atelier Bamboo, this Batgirl Statue is constructed of high-quality PVC plastic and stands approximately 9 inches tall with an exclusive "Gotham City Gargoyle" display base. Barbara Gordon is an amazing start to the new line, and you can look forward to more beautiful DC ladies coming soon! As a side note: I think "Bishouj" means "pretty girl" in Japan. PHOTO - Sexy Vintage 60's Pin-Up of Yvonne Craig

Here's a vintage 1960's pin-up photo I found showing a very cute Yvonne Craig at the pool in a bikini swimsuit, hubba hubba! Oh yeah, for the 3 or 4 Bat-Blog Readers who might not know who she is, she played both Batgirl & Barbara Gordon on the 1966 Batman TV Show. Yvonne Craig has a pretty awesome website, if you want to check it out then just click HERE!

GOTHAM HIGH - The Batman Cartoon That Didn't Get Made

Here are some pictures that have been heavily circulating around the Internet. They are Concept Art for an idea for a new animated TV Show called GOTHAM HIGH. Basically, it's the entire World of Batman as teenagers. Yes, teenagers, ha! You have Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordon, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Clayface, Two-Face, Bane, etc... I have to admit the artwork is very good and the character's quirks & personalities are all caught pretty well ( Be sure to click on the 1st image for a large, more detailed, photo ). But, personally, I'm extremely happy that this never got off the ground. Now, some people have said that if it did get green-lit that it would have been fun... because it's such a train wreck. Plus, one friend said he would have liked to have seen the Action Figures made from this show because the character designs are kinda neat. What do you think?
