The Next New Episode of BATMAN: THE BRAVE & THE BOLD will be called "Death Race To Oblivion" & it will air on Friday, November 20th, 2009 on the Cartoon Network. The basic plot goes like this: Mongul holds Earth ransom, forcing it's greatest heroes--and villains!--to race for the planet's survival. It's a crooked bargain wherein even if Batman wins, he dooms his fellow heroes--if the villains don't doom them first!

This show is titled "Revenge of The Reach" & the Special Guest Stars will be Blue Beetle & Guy Gardner with the Green Lantern Corps. ( The "Challengers of The Unknown" will be in the guests in the teaser-part of the show ). It will air on January 1st, 2010 on the Cartoon Network. The Basic Plot is: Blue Beetle is finally ready for a mission of his own and things go smoothly until he tries to deliver his captured villain to Oa, where he is attacked by the Green Lanterns! Blue's scarab is revealed to be linked to an army of evil aliens known as the Reach - does he have the power to resist their influence?

Bruce Timm To Receive 2009 Winsor McCay Award ( Batman: The Animated Series )

ASIFA-Hollywood has announced that Bruce Timm has been named one of the winners of the 2009 Winsor McCay Awards, granted in recognition for career contributions to the field of animation. The recipients will receive their trophies at the 2010 Annie Awards scheduled for February 6, 2010. Of course Mr. Timm is most know for his Art Direction in Batman: The Animated Series. Being that B:TAS is the VERY BEST Cartoon in the History of Animation, this award is well deserved! Congratulations Bruce Timm.

Free BATMAN Desktop Backgrounds "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"

The Bat-Blog is famous for it's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" event that happens, you guessed it, every Wednesday! Ha Ha, this week I thought I would try to mix it up a little bit & have 3 wallpapers ( we usually post 2 ) because I'm all crazy like that. Plus, I wanted to mix it up another way & have them all be radically different...or as different as possible but still keep them all Batman-related, whew! So, HERE...WE...GO! The 1st one uses an amazing piece of "Heath Ledger The Dark Knight Joker" artwork that was submitted by a reader named DC Miller. His work is incredible & I knew it had to be presented as a wallpaper. In order to place the image on the right-hand side I had to flip it but it looks great! ( Thanks DC for sending the art ). The 2nd one is a photo of Adam West from the cover of the March 11th, 1966 Issue of LIFE Magazine. This image is totally iconic...a masterpiece! The last one uses what is probably the most recent version of Batman & that's the character from the new BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD cartoon. Just a friendly reminder that the brand-new animated TV series BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD hit's the airwaves tonight! Now, here at the Bat-Blog we have been flooded with e-mails from people asking, "What time does the show come on?" OK, Cartoon Network originally had it planned for 7:30pm & then changed it to 8:00pm but this morning I checked my TV provider's listings & they say 7:00pm. I know, it's all confusing. So, the best thing I can say is just get online or look on your Cable TV Listing channel to find out what time it will be on your local listings. The Cartoon Network is acting very strange with this so just check our local guide to be sure.

Video: BATMAN VIRTUAL RIDE 3-D CGI Animation Demo

You might remember this video, I posted it here at the Bat-Blog about a year ago ( it's buried in the Bat-Archives now ). But a friend sent it to me recently & this one is a way better version, very nice quality! The basic story on it was that Blur Animation Studios created this CGI movie for Warner Bros to use in one of those "Virtual Ride" events at one of their Six Flags theme parks. It shows "you", as Batman, flying around Gotham City in a Bat-Jet chasing after many different villains like the Joker, Catwoman, & Mr. Freeze. I love the little Bat-Jet planes because they look a lot like the one from the 1989 movie. The video is extremely well done & is actually very fun to watch, enjoy!

In this week's episode of BATMAN: BRAVE AND THE BOLD, airing tonight on the Cartoon Network, the new adventure is titled "Mystery in Space"! Aquaman joins Batman in a thrilling space adventure on Adam Strange's home planet of Rann. There our heroes join forces to battle Gordanian General Kreegaar and his reptilian horde. It’s the power of justice and a good old fashioned fight that resurrects Aquaman’s heroism as he leads the team to on a mission to destroy the Eye of Zared! In this week’s episode, “Invasion of the Secret Santas”, the evil Fun Haus plans to steal Christmas with his army of robot Santa Clauses and killer toys including "Dynamite Dolly" Dolls and the "Presto Play Pals" Action Figures! Red Tornado teams up with Batman to save Christmas and in the process, finds his holiday spirit. Most Bat-Blog Readers know that we go totally crazy with the FREE Batman Desktop Wallpaper every Wednesday. So here we go! Because the Cartoon Network is gonna premiere the new Batman Animated TV Show this Friday ( November 14th, 8:00pm ) I thought I would use some of the promo art I received to make a few backgrounds. Now, please keep in mind that they have moved the show from 7:30pm to 8:00pm. You might check your local listings to be sure. For whatever reason they decided to shuffle a few things around. Anyways, I know a lot of readers here are gonna really love this show. From what I have seen it looks amazing...I can't wait! In fact, my family is planning a "Watch Party" where we're all be getting together to see it. My 2 small nephews will be there so it will be kinda neat to see how they like it. I mean, the show is directed towards little kids so their opinion will be interesting. Plus, we're ordering pizza so we can totally nerd out! I think it's gonna be fun!
