This amazing 3D Computer Graphic Art was done by our good friend Achim Loobes to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Batman, the Caped Crusaider! He has a website devoted to Batman that has a ton of very cool 3-D computer artwork. Now, the only problem is that the website is from Germany & is totally in the German language. So some of you, like me, can't read anything, ha ha! But it's very well designed & easy to navigate. It's worth a look just to see the cool images. Some of them are interaction & when you move your mouse around on top of the image, they come alive! Oh yeah, the site is called DER-VIGILANT & you can make a visit by clicking HERE!
You might remember this video, I posted it here at the Bat-Blog about a year ago ( it's buried in the Bat-Archives now ). But a friend sent it to me recently & this one is a way better version, very nice quality! The basic story on it was that Blur Animation Studios created this CGI movie for Warner Bros to use in one of those "Virtual Ride" events at one of their Six Flags theme parks. It shows "you", as Batman, flying around Gotham City in a Bat-Jet chasing after many different villains like the Joker, Catwoman, & Mr. Freeze. I love the little Bat-Jet planes because they look a lot like the one from the 1989 movie. The video is extremely well done & is actually very fun to watch, enjoy!
This graphic below is a HUGE Desktop Wallpaper, Click on it to see it's beauty!
The other day I noticed a new link to my page from a site with a strange name. I mean strange in that it was foreign, not weird! Ha Ha, anyway, I went to check it out & it's from Germany. The language is German & I can't read it but the site is still very easy to navigate as it is very well-designed. There's a ton of original graphics there, mostly 3-D in style. Up above I am showing the Main Header for the site & the picture below that is a desktop wallpaper showing Batman done in 3D artwork. You guys might check it out sometime because it's pretty cool. Just remember to BOOKMARK THE BAT-BLOG before you go!!
Here's an extremely well-done 3-D CG animation showing the characters from Batman The Animated Series. You'll notice the art direction right away, looks like it was taken straight from the series but is now 3D instead of 2D. It features Batman, The Joker, & Harley Quinn. I'm guessing that this was a test for an animation art student? Either way they did a great job!
Oh yeah, Here's an "alternative ending" for the film, ha ha!
Recently a Bat-Blog Reader ( David ) sort of introduced me to another artist named Larry Malott. Now I really appreciate that because this guy's work is AMAZING!! He is also very versatile as he likes to work in many different mediums. He draws, paints, does 3D computer graphics, sculpts statues, sews costumes, etc...this guy is almost insane, ha ha! ( Sorry Larry, I mean that in a good way ). For example, the 2 graphics shown here are of some 3D Model images he made. It's for an idea he has about some new vinyl toy he would like to make. It's name is BAT-MOUSE & I totally love it! Readers, please be sure to click on the small graphics up above for larger, more detailed, versions. The modeling is awesome & I love the retro silver age style of the bat-costume. In fact, when I asked him if that one picture was inspired by original Neal Adams' art ( because of the classic pose of the character ) he said, "YES!". He said he totally loves Adams' work & is even in the process, right now, of creating a "Neal Adams Style" Batman Costume. Now, I've seen some of his other costumes he has made so I know it will be totally great! I can't wait to see it!! ( Larry, You better send us some photos of it later, ha ha! ). I wanna thank both David & Larry for introducing me to this art. Larry has a lot of other artwork ( most non-Batman-related ) that is really great too & if you would like to see it then just click HERE!
Check out this amazing fan-made 3-D Computer Animation Video where BATMAN shows off his Tai Chi Martial Art Techniques. It's sort of a "How To Video" to become a Tai Chi Master! Plus, it's very impressive!
Here are 2 really cool SEXY CATWOMAN videos done by different 3D Animators using different CGI software programs. The 1st one is kind of scary & be sure to crank up your speakers to hear Batman's back crack, ha ha. It's a very different version of Catwoman, a sort-of "What If" story, where she is super-human. Warning: It might creep you out a little bit, Aaaahh!
The 2nd video is the one I like the best, visually. It's an extremely sort clip but looks very cool. An artist named Ernesto Paganoni did it using XSI 3d Animation software. It looks really great! This would be cool to see as a complete animated feature. It sort of reminds me of the art in the Appleseed Anime movie.
Here's an amazing 3-D CGI Computer Animated Batman Movie Fan-Film made by Reticom Films. It's titled BATMAN: BLOOD AND MUD. The story is based on Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns comic book graphic novel. The graphics are really amazing & it has a lot of scenes that are very iconic. I think a lot of Batman Fans are gonna totally love it & remember, you saw it here first! ( Thank you Infrafan for sending me the link, you ROCK, Sir! ).
BATMAN: BLOOD AND MUD REDUX - 3D animation - contains violent graphic images. Reticom Films has re-issued it's fan-made film but with a few extra scenes & better quality. It's based upon the acclaimed graphic novel by Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. "In a not distant future, Bruce Wayne now retired from his vigilante duties, watches the city of Gotham burn under the merciless attacks of a new criminal breed, The Mutants. Bruce's alter ego torments his mind, waiting the moment when the dark knight returns to avenge Gotham one last time." This animated flick by Thiago Micalopulos, produced by Carolina Romano, Music by Jeremy Flinders. A. Spliff Rosa, Mac Cauley, Carolina Romano, James La maquina.
An art student named Henrique did this amazing CGI animation video as a lip sync test. He chose The Joker from The Dark Knight Batman movie to do it. It uses Heath Ledger's voice & it's kinda cool that he made the interrogation room so accurate too.
This is just a post to share some news I heard last night. The rumor goes that J.C. Penney stores have an extremely cool Batman T-Shirt that borrows graphics from the Vintage 1953 BATMAN 3-D Comic Book. I think it's only sold there as I have not seen it anywhere else. Plus, right now it's on clearance & you can get it for $9.99. I totally love the Retro-style graphics on this, it's great! Be sure to look at the actual comic book cover for reference, nice!
Here's a short video from a friend who is just getting into 3-D animation. As an artist he's totally inspired by the 1966 Batman TV Series & did this as a test. Actually it's extremely cool & you go from the Bat-Poles to the Bat-Cave! Also, the "George Barris Batmobile" looks pretty awesome! It's a short test but I think he did a pretty good job. There's really a lot of details to it, especially the Batcave interior. Please leave a comment down below letting him know what you feel about it. I think he would get a kick out of that, thanks.
Up above is a Batman and Robin Desktop Wallpaper with artwork by Carmine Infantino. I've included it here to remind everyone of what it looks like because down below is a 3D Computer Animation of this iconic comic book image from the 1960's Silver Age. As soon as I saw this on YouTube I knew it had to be shared on the Bat-Blog, it's pretty cool!
An art student named Brad did this amazing CGI animation video while learning to lip sync a character. It was an assignment for a 3D animation class & he chose The Joker from The Dark Knight Batman movie. It uses Heath Ledger's voice & it's pretty cool, I mean, super-creepy!
OK, I'm a little late reporting this ( sorry ) but this video game doesn't come out in the USA for awhile so, it's all good! I'm talking about last year's most popular video game BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM. They're going to re-release it in a Special "GAME OF THE YEAR" Edition. Oh yeah, and it's going to be in 3D! Yes, you read that right, 3-D. It looks like Eidos is jumping on that bandwagon. Well, I guess it's not a total loss because there will be a few extra characters & special maps. Plus, if the 3D action is done well then it might be pretty cool. Anyways, here's a pic of what the packaging will look like. They're making it in all the standard gaming formats: Playstation 3, XBox 360, & Windows Games ( I like PS3 the best ). OK, it's already been released in Europe & Australia ( came out March 26th ) but will hit the USA on May 11th, 2010. One last thing, down below is the game trailer...check it out!!
