Aaron's BATMAN AND JOKER TATTOO ART Photos

Hey Boys & Girls, it's time again for another awesome example of Batman Tattoo Art! This photo was submitted by our good friend Aaron. It shows an all-around design that features Batman, Joker, & the Bat-Signal in the Sky of Gotham City...it's beautiful! The Joker is the "Heath Ledger" version from The Dark Knight movie. I really like the colors in this thing, very vivid. Plus, the Bat-Signal sort of has a translucent effect that makes it look less solid & more like "light"...nice! Thanks Aaron for sharing this wonderful Bat-Tat. I know that everyone is going to really love it!

REMEMBER:

If any other Bat-Blog Fans get any ink done, then please send a photo!

JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED Gotham Criminals 4 Pack ACTION FIGURE SET

Here's a nice variety of JLU figures by Mattel that will all be packaged together in a special set called "Gotham Criminals - 4 Pack" & has a release date of February 15th, 2009. The set includes: Harley Quinn, Bane, Scarecrow, & the Clock-King! WOW, We have not seen "The Clock-King" in a long time! I really love these & can't wait until they arrive!

Video: BATMAN VIRTUAL RIDE 3-D CGI Animation Demo

You might remember this video, I posted it here at the Bat-Blog about a year ago ( it's buried in the Bat-Archives now ). But a friend sent it to me recently & this one is a way better version, very nice quality! The basic story on it was that Blur Animation Studios created this CGI movie for Warner Bros to use in one of those "Virtual Ride" events at one of their Six Flags theme parks. It shows "you", as Batman, flying around Gotham City in a Bat-Jet chasing after many different villains like the Joker, Catwoman, & Mr. Freeze. I love the little Bat-Jet planes because they look a lot like the one from the 1989 movie. The video is extremely well done & is actually very fun to watch, enjoy!

ROBIN, THE GIRL WONDER!!

OK, no matter who you are, you HAVE GOT to admit that this is the cutest little girl you have ever seen! This is our friend Gavin's Daughter who dressed up like Robin ( The Girl Wonder! ) last Halloween. He explains a lot of the stuff you see in the photos a lot better than I could so check this out:
This year my 2 1/2 year old daughter and I dressed up as Robin and Batman. We spent some time designing and making her costume, which she got such a kick out of and it turned out pretty good. We looked up pictures from the comics when Stephanie Brown had a short stint as Robin and we did what we could to mimic her costume. I joined her as a hastily-put-together Batman. Our church had a "trunk-or-treat" event where we handed out candy from the decorated trunks of our cars. We went with a Gotham City backdrop. It was fun watching some of the kids come around trick-or-treating and stare at the action figures in the trunk, thinking they were so cool.
OK, That explains the Gotham City scene in the car! I was really confused by that when I first saw it but totally get it now. Wow! That's a pretty cool idea & very creative, I love it! But what I mostly like are the costumes. I think it's really neat when parents & children dress-up in matching costumes, especially as Batman characters. That's always very sweet & I'm sure that the kids always get a total kick out of it. OK, The parents have fun too but you know what I mean! Thank you Gavin for sharing your story & wonderful pics with us. Please tell your daughter that she makes an excellent Robin!

Batman Mods: GRAND THEFT AUTO Gotham City ( New Version )

Something I've been trying to learn a little bit about & then share here is a cool thing called Video Game MODS. Basically people have learned how to create 3D characters that they can then use to replace "people" & vehicles in video games. Here are some examples. Up above is a group of amazing looking MOD "people" who are Batman-related characters. ( Click the small picture to reveal a HUGE photo )! There's Robin, Batgirl, Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face, Riddler, and of course, Batman ( 4 versions )! The Batman versions include: Modern Day, Beyond, Movie, & my favorite, Adam West! Also shown are some VEHICLE MODS of the Batmobiles ( many versions ), Bat-Jet, Bat-Plane, Bat-Bikes, Bat-Boat, & Bat-Copters. My top 2 favorite vehicles here are the Retro 30's Batmobile & the 1966 TV Show Batcopter ...Sweet! Anyways, you take these mods & replace the code in your video game & then this is what appears. I've seen video where people have done this & it's crazy! It's like a whole new game & looks really really cool. Now, a friend to the Bat-Blog sent us a link that is to a MODS Message Board for the people who are really into this. If you'd like more information I suggest going there. Anybody else who's into this please send me more info to share, thanks.

ART: Two BATMAN Russian Nesting Doll Sets with a Batman Theme

If you have been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile then you know I totally love ART & I think that these BATMAN RUSSIAN NESTING DOLLS fit that category to a tee! Both these sets belong to our friend known as "The BATFAN" & he was kind enough to send these wonderful photos ( Please be sure to click on them for larger, more detailed, versions ). The 1st Set sort of celebrates the many different Batman Movie characters. Besides Michael Keaton, there is: Catwoman ( Michelle Pfeiffer ), The Penguin ( Danny Devito ), & The 1989 Joker ( Jack Nicholson ). Wow! The artist made all of these characters look exactly like the actual people...that's cool! The next photo is a Set of Nesting Dolls with a BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES theme. I have always loved that cartoon & think the art direction on it is great. So, seeing these is just a true delight for any Batman Fan! The characters depicted here are Batman, Robin, Two-Face, The Penguin, Bane, & Gotham City. Yes, I have always considered "Gotham City" a character. It plays an important role in many Batman stories. I wanna thank The BATFAN for sharing these with us. It's always fun to see cool artwork that is inspired by our favorite Caped Crusader. If any other readers have some artwork ( painting, drawing, sculpture, anything creative ) then please send us some pics today!

Batman GOTHAM POST NEWSPAPER Graffiti Street Art Stickers

Carrie, a friend to the BAT-BLOG, sent us this recent photo showing what a graffiti artist is doing n her hometown. The artist has made stickers he uses to vandalize newspaper vending machine into looking like they are the GOTHAM POST Newspaper of Batman's Gotham City. Oh my god! That is so freakin' cool, we love it! Thanks for the nice pic Carrie :)

Hey BATMAN FANS! It's Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

For people new to the Bat-Blog I guess I gotta explain that every single Wednesday we go a little crazy & post a few Batman-Themed Desktop Wallpapers you can use to brighten up your PC Desktop or use as a background in a MySpace Layout, whew! This week both of them have a "Batman in Gotham City" vibe that you might like. The first one is a high-quality graphic I found that was once a hi-rez scan from a Batman comic book. The coloring & sharpness are really great! The next one is even more special because it's totally custom-made. It was drawn by our friend, Sean Hartter, who's a really talented Graphic Artist. It's a Japanese-influenced "ad poster" with minimal colors. The cool thing about it, you might not notice, is that the image is filtered & it looks like an actual woodcut print on paper. Which again, is sort of an homage to the whole Japan printing technique. In other words, it looks like the real deal but it's not, ha ha! Thanks again Sean, another cool wallpaper!

Jared's BATMAN Halloween Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin

A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named Jared, sent us a photo of his BATMAN Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin. He carved it last year but he said he didn't know about the Bat-Blog then so he's sending it now, ha ha. Oh man, it looks totally WICKED! Seriously, he did a great job on it. It shows Batman flying through the sky of Gotham City. It even has the Bat-Signal symbol in the air...very cool! Thanks for sharing this Jared & if any other Bat-Blog Fans have cool pics like this to send then please do. Our e-mail button is ALWAYS on the top right hand side of this page. SAFE & HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!

Leon's ADAM WEST BATMAN COSTUME DISPLAY Gets a Beautiful Wall Mural!

Hey Bat-Fans, Remember awhile back we posted a few shots of a cool manikin our friend Leon got to display his Custom Adam West Batman Costume? Well, it looks like he extended that project & decided to paint a giant-size Wall Mural has a backdrop! Oh man, it's really cool & they did a great job on it. Basically they used a scene from the animated opening credits of the Classic 1966 TV Series. It's the graphics of Gotham City with the Bat-Signal in the sky. How cool is that!! Here's a few "before, during, & after" shots. Just check out the pics showing it completed, it's great!! Now, Leon has an even cooler Bat-Cave! This is something I wish I had the space for ( Yes, I'm Jealous! Thanks to Leon & Family for sending the fun pics )

Funny Random BATMAN AND JOKER Humor Pictures!

HA HA HA HA HA! The 1st photo is one I randomly found on the Internet. It's of a mother who dressed-up like the Joker to take her small son out for his birthday. It looks like they are using public transportation. He's wearing a kid's costume of our favorite Caped Crusader, BATMAN! I thought it was kinda sweet that a Mother would do that. Speaking of buses. The next image is a funny new Humor T-Shirt featuring Batman, in Gotham City, using a bus to get around. Maybe his Batmobile was in the garage? ( Yes, we'll be here all week folks, har har! ) The next pic is the best one, so that's why I saved it for last! Remember our "Draw Batman's Face" Art Challenge? Well, this one was sent in recently by our friend Aaron. He made Pokemon into the Dark Knight and it's awesome!! Seriously, I cracked-up when I first saw it, totally unexpected! ( Thanks Aaron, great drawing & the coloring is nice too ). Now, if you guys come across some funny Batman-related Humor then please let us know, thanks!

THE GOTHAM TIMES Newspaper: Viral Marketing Websites For The Dark Knight Batman Movie

Recently, at special locations, Warner Brothers gave out a fake newspaper called The Gotham Times ( See large photo up above that is also a Desktop Wallpaper ). It looks like a real-life newspaper! It's even printed on the same kind of paper. In it there are fake ads for businesses you might see in a real newspaper. Well some of these fake companies have been popping up all over the internet. One of them is for the Gotham Police Department. Here's a picture of their website's header with the "Official GCPD Seal"...it looks VERY real!

They even made a page for the Railway Transit System with a map & everything. The funny thing is they show the line to Wayne Towers being under-construction because, if you remember, in Batman Begins that section near the building was destroyed, ha ha!!

Here's a few links for some of the fake websites:

Funny Humor Photo: GRAND THEFT AUTO Gotham City Edition!

This picture cracks me up! This is a fake cover for a Playstation 2 Video Game that we ALL wish they would make, ha ha! It's GRAND THEFT AUTO: GOTHAM CITY Edition. It uses graphics from Batman, The Animated Series. The artist who made it did a really great job because it's a perfect parody of the graphic-style Rockstar Games uses for their actual video game packaging...sweet!
