BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Gotham City Raceway - Slot Car Racing Set

Our good buddy "Batmobile Billy" recently sent us some photos of a new addition to his Batman Car Collection. It's a Slot Car Racing Set with a "Batman: The Brave & The Bold" theme. It's called "GOTHAM CITY RACEWAY!". It's made by TYCO RC, which I think is owned by Mattel now. You get a bunch of Race Track, 2 Controllers, a Few Cardboard Cut-Outs of Different Scenes, a Batmobile Slot Car, & Green Arrow's car. This is kinda funny because they usually make these sets with the other car being Batman's enemy ( usually the Joker ). This time it's Green Arrow, which kind of makes sense since they're always competing in the cartoon. Billy told me that the cars look really great ...but they're a lot smaller than usual. But either way this is a Batman Race Set I am gonna have to get because I really love the TV Show & this item looks really cool! ( Thanks Billy for sending the nice pics ).

JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED Gotham Criminals 4 Pack ACTION FIGURE SET

Here's a nice variety of JLU figures by Mattel that will all be packaged together in a special set called "Gotham Criminals - 4 Pack" & has a release date of February 15th, 2009. The set includes: Harley Quinn, Bane, Scarecrow, & the Clock-King! WOW, We have not seen "The Clock-King" in a long time! I really love these & can't wait until they arrive!

A Few NEW BATMAN PRODUCTS That Are Cool!

Here are 2 photos of some brand-new Batman merchandise sent in by 2 awesome Bat-Blog Fans. I thought I would post them because they do make great Christmas Gift ideas. The 1st one is a box of BATMAN COLOGNE that our friend Jennifer found at ROSS. Ross is a Discount Clothing Store & they always have unique gift items. I think it's pretty cool that they're selling this & it's only $7.99, which is a good deal. I really like the graphics used on the box, a "Comic Book" version of the Caped Crusader! The next photo was sent in by our buddy "Batmobile Billy" who is totally into collecting all the different variations of the Batmobile ( hence the cool nickname, ha! ). Here is a perfect gift idea for that little boy or girl in your life, a Fisher Price Imaginext Batmobile Toy Car that comes with some "Toxic Barrels" to crash into. But the thing that's so cool about it is that it also has a lot of nice action figures with it too. There are three Villains: Two-Face, Joker, & Riddler. Plus, you get 3 Superheroes, six figures in all! Now please keep in mind that this is a TARGET Store Exclusive that you can ONLY find there. New Toy Photos: DC Universe Classics 2 Pack Batman vs Clayface

I know a lot of Batman Fans are gonna be really excited to see this Clayface Action Figure even though it's a re-issue. Mainly because he's one character that's kinda hard to find... plus he looks extremely cool! This will be a part of the new DC Universe Classics toy line by Mattel. This special 2-pack is coming out in January 2009, so look for it then.

THE DARK KNIGHT DVD & BLU-RAY Store Exclusives in the USA

OK, keeping up with the whole "DVD & Blu-Ray Store Exclusives" thing is a total nightmare! But here's some early reports I have got so far. Best Buy will be giving away a free "Movie Poster" with all pre-orders of THE DARK KNIGHT ( actually not a real movie poster but smaller ). This is kinda cheesy so look for a way better offer from them once it gets closer to December 9th ( the official release date for the DVD ). Another "exclusive" that looks a lot better is from Wal-Mart. Seriously, ha ha! Walmart will bundle the "Single-Disc DVD" with a TDK Comic Book & Two-Face Coin Replica. The last rumor I have heard is that FYE Stores will have the movie in 3 different Steelcases ( Graphics will be either Batman, Two-Face, or Joker ). I don't have a photo of them yet so if you live near a FYE store please send us one! Like I said, keeping up with all the store exclusive DVD sets is totally crazy so if you have ANY information to share then please let us know, thanks.

THE DARK KNIGHT DVD & BLU-RAY Batman Movie "Foreign" Store Exclusives

OK, in researching some of the "foreign" DVD & Blu-Ray Releases of THE DARK KNIGHT I have come across these two. The 1st one is the "German Edition" Blu-Ray Set & it comes with a Laser-Cut 3-D Display of the Bat-Pod Motorcycle. It also comes in a special display box. I imagine they will also sell a regular DVD set too but it might not have the extra gift. The 2nd one is from Canada. It's a "Special Two-Disc DVD Edition" & will come with the "Joker Goon - Bank Robber Mask" Statue. Something to keep in mind is that the Canadian one might work in US players but the German one will probably be "Region 2" so it might not. DVDs are sold in different formats for different countries. Region 1 is usually for the USA & Canada...you might check before buying one. This one has a special box also. If any other readers living outside the USA come across any special DVD sets then please let us know.

Review: BATMAN, THE ANIMATED SERIES - LIMITED EDITION MUSIC SOUNDTRACK CD ( 2 DISC SET )

OK, Awhile back we reported here about a brand-new Batman product of the music soundtrack CD ( 2 - Disc Set ) of BATMAN, THE ANIMATED SERIES. As a HUGE FAN of this extremely well-done classic television series I could not have been more thrilled. Well, I received a promo copy the other day & have been listening to it the last 2-3 days. It took me forever to hear all of it because it's around 2 1/2 hours long! Oh man, the music is beautiful & the quality is really great too! Here's the basic information about the soundtrack,

OK, you just read the company's info, here's mine: It comes with 2 CDs, a 20 page booklet that is actually well-written, & is limited to only 3000 units ( which is really not a lot & I expect this thing to sell-out pretty easily ). It was created by a company called LA-LA LAND RECORDS & you can really see the love they put into it. The overall design of the entire thing is very well done & my favorite part, this will be kind of corny maybe, but when you open the CD Case the very 1st thing you see, on the left side, is a photo of the composer Shirley Walker. They print the words, "In Loving Memory ...SHIRLEY WALKER 1945 - 2006". Ya see, she died very recently & she was very well respected by a lot of music fans. She did an incredible job on this cartoon ( among others ), & was really loved by a lot of people in the industry. Seriously, her music is great & she was also a very nice person. I thought that was very sweet & sort of a very classy thing to do as most published music CDs would not do a thing like that...very very cool. But, I'm sorry, back to the actual product. The music is really wonderful & will bring back a lot of memories of this awesome animated TV series. Of course it includes the classic TV Intro Theme Song done by Danny Elfman, which we all love. But, even the rest of the music is a total joy to listen to. If you go to the LA-LA LAND website there's a published track listing that shows all the songs on the 2-Disc Set. A few of the songs are "clickable" & you can listen to a few MP3 samples to get an idea...very nice! I guess one thing I should mention too is that this merchandise will ONLY be available at their website ( and maybe at some other obscure "music fan" sites ) & is reported to not be sold by other sites like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. On a personal level I very seriously LOVED this Batman TV show & the fact that La-La Land Records did such an amazing job on this soundtrack really feels me with a lot of pride. The respect & love they put into this project is well appreciated by me & I know if you get a copy you'll love it too.

LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT Action Figure Box Set

New from DC Direct, next year, will be a special LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT Action Figures Set. It will include Batman, The Joker, Two-Face, & GCPD Commissioner James Gordon. This box set includes all four action figures, all featuring brand new paint application, as well as LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT SPECIAL, a unique 64-page collection of stories featuring each character’s secret origin and other tales. Personally, I really like the figure of Jim Gordon, that's awesome! Release Date: On sale June 17, 2009.

DC Direct - DETECTIVE COMICS CLASSICS: Batman Action Figures Box Set

I usually don't post new Batman Toy information this early ( these won't be out until the middle of next year ) but when I saw these "new" Batman Action Figures I thought they were really great so here they are! I love the "Silver Age" look of them. It looks like DC Direct is going to re-release a set of 5 figures that they have done before, but now they have a slightly different paint job, & will also come with a special graphic novel book of collected stories. Here's what DC Direct actually says about them:

CANADIAN 2008 BATMAN PEZ CANDY DISPENSERS From Canada!

Oh my god!! These are the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my whole life, ha ha!! In 2008, in Canada ( arrrggghhh! ) the PEZ Candy Company will be releasing a set of 4 Batman Pez Candy Dispensers!! The set of four includes: Batman, The Joker, The Riddler, and Two-Face! They're gonna sell them in both poly-bags & as carded dispensers. ( I prefer the cards ). Near the bottom is a photo of the display box which is pretty sweet too! I'm a rabid Batman Toy Collector who also collects PEZ so these are totally driving me crazy...they WILL be MINE!

New 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW BATMOBILE SLOT CAR RACE SET From Auto World!

The 1966 TV Batmobile Car has just resurfaced on the cover of the Auto World Slot Car 2010 Catalog!! It looks like they will be making a Special '66 BATMAN TV SHOW Slot Car Race Set with the Batmobile & another "Villain Car". I'm not sure which evil doer it will be because the prototype box art show a vehicle that looks like it belongs to the Joker & the Catalog says "Penguinmobile" where they show the race track layout ( see pics ). But don't worry, the Bat-Blog will let everybody know once we get some more information. In the meantime, please enjoy these photos & totally drool!! SDCC 2009 EXCLUSIVE MATTEL HOT WHEELS The Dark Knight Movie Tumbler Batmobile and Batpod Set ( San Diego Comic Con '09 )

OK, If you're planning to go to the 2009 San Diego Comic Con be sure to hit the Mattel Booth for an EXCLUSIVE Hot Wheels THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Tumbler Batmobile and Bat-Pod Motorcycle Set! They have been keeping it pretty top secret but a reader named Tony sent us this amazing photo. Basically it's a Window-Boxed Set of 2 vehicles from the Dark Knight film. The way the vehicles are displayed inside the dox it looks like the Bat-Cycle is bursting out of the Tumbler batmobile Car...SWEET! I have also heard they will be the 1:50 Scale size...AWESOME! As we get more SDCC '09 information we'll have better pics later, so stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for more info! ( Thank You Tony, You ROCK, Sir! )

BATMAN, THE ANIMATED SERIES: COMPLETE DVD SET

Later this year Warner Bros will be releasing a special collector's issue of "Batman: The Complete Animated Series" on DVD. It will include all four seasons plus extras (16 discs) in special packaging along with new bonus material exclusive to this set. Right now it's in the very very preliminary stages so there's not much news on both retail cost or exact release date. But you know we will report it as soon as we find out so stay tuned.

Free BATMAN ICON SET For Apple OS X Desktop Apps

Batman Icon Set 1.0 is a free icon & folder set for Apple OS X, ranging from the classic to the modern. Please keep in mind that these ONLY work on newer Apple Personal Computers & NOT Windows PCs. I don't have an Apple so I have not been able to test them. I just think they look great & if you're a Batman Fan ( with an Apple ) then you might love them too.
