New For 2009: Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Car By Mattel

There's gonna be a few new variations on the Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Car that has caught a lot of people by surprise. It looks like Mattel will create a reissue of the '66 Batmobile they made last year ( what a surprise, ha ha! ) for 2009. This new version will sport some new tires on the car & the header card will have 2 variations: one has a plain background with concept art of the Batmobile ( nice! ) & the other one is identical but has some "snowflake" graphics on it. These have already started to surface on eBay so I guess they're out now. Remember, be patient & look for these in stores. Don't pay greedy scalper prices! I remember when the 1st original version came out people were paying $100.00+ for these babies. I couldn't believe it! Go look on there now, you can buy them for 99 cents, ha ha!

BAT-BLOG CONTEST WINNER: Hot Wheels 1:12 Scale 1966 TV Series BAT-CYCLE With SIDECAR!

OK, Today is the day! Today we are announcing the winner for the latest Bat-Blog Contest! Last night, at Midnight, we randomly picked a name out of the hat to see who won the Brand-New Hot Wheels (1:12 Scale) 1966 TV Series BAT-CYCLE With SIDECAR! I always love that part of the contests, getting to see who actually won the item we're giving away. I know I'm totally stupid but it's just a lot of fun, ha ha! Plus, this prize must have been pretty good because a ton of people sent in requests, that's awesome! I hope to have another contest pretty soon so keep an eye out for that. OK, enough stalling, ha ha! It's time to announce the winner! The lucky person this time is none other than Jonathan K. of Melbourne, Australia! WOW! Somebody from "down under" won ...that's cool! Jonathan, please contact us so we can confirm your correct mailing address. Then, we will be mailing you this beautiful Hot Wheels item! Plus, I'm gonna pack this prize very carefully because Australia is pretty far away from where I live & I want this prize to arrive safely. I know you're gonna love it because it really is very cool. I think that Mattel did a really great job on creating this item, the detailing is really well done.
Thank you to everybody who entered & better luck next time!

( Also, for legal reasons maybe, I gotta mention that Mattel, DC Comics, or Warner Bros had nothing to do with this contest. It's just a way for the Bat-Blog to show appreciation for its readers )

NEW 1966 BATMAN TV BATMOBILE TOY CAR By HOT WHEELS

All the Batman Message Boards are in a buzz about the release of the new line of BATMAN BATMOBILE diescast toy cars that are gonna be made in 2007 by Hot Wheels! Basically, the Corgi Toy Company, who has been making an extremely nice series of Batmobiles the last few years, has lost the agreement to do them & next year they're gonna be made by Mattel. The main car everyone is super-excited about is the '66 Batmobile from the 1966 Batman TV Show, designed by George Barris! Up above is a prototype graphic "teaser" showing the car...I can't wait for this to come out because it should be extremely cool! I've heard they're gonna go all out on this one & the fine-details are gonna be insane! Also, It's gonna be a large-sized car about 1/18th scale!! Mattel is keeping everything super-secret right now so we don't know yet but as soon as the info becomes avaliable you can read it here at the olde BAT-BLOG! ( Click the small picture up above for a larger photo ).

VINTAGE BATMAN Toys & Memorabilia 1960's & 70's

Today I thought I needed to do a post about Vintage Batman Toys. This is a crowd favorite & really the main reason for the blog, the joy of collecting old toys. The 1st photo is a picture of an old magazine ad for the Batman Bat-Cycle Riding Toy that I completely stole off a friend's website, ha ha! He has a great page that I like to visit to see old toy catalog pictures. It's called PLAIDSTALLIONS.COM & you should check it out sometime. The 2nd photo is of an extremely Super-RARE Set of "Official Batman JOKER EYES" novelty glasses. These would almost be worthless out of the package because they are so generic but as you can tell the Header Card says it all. I really love the vintage graphics on this piece, very cool! The next item is from the UK & quite RARE also. It's the Husky Extra 1966 Batmobile Diecast Car made by Corgi, #1202. The last photo is a nice collection of Vintage Signet Paperback Books done around the time of the 1966 Batman TV Show. We hope you have enjoyed some of these pics & if you have any pix from your personal collection then please send them in to share.
