Jerry's Photos: CUSTOM BATMAN 12" HOT TOYS FIGURES

Our good friend Jerry, who lives in Taiwan, sent us some amazing photos the other day. He recently went to a store at some shopping mall in Taipei City called "Taiwan Figure Union". He said he saw a lot of awesome stuff, such as these 12" Batman Movie Custom Figures that some Bat-Fans got to display in the front store windows. I have to say that they are all very impressive with really great head sculpts. I mean, some of them look just like the original actors! The main focus for most of the dolls appear to be the 2005 BATMAN BEGINS movie, but in photo #2 we get to see a version from an earlier Batman movie, maybe 1992 BATMAN RETURNS-inspired. They made one of the "R'as al Ghul" character & it looks exactly like Liam Neeson, ha! They also made a more Modern Day "Comic Book JOKER" but used the body from THE DARK KNIGHT Heath Ledger figure by HOT TOYS ( in fact, I think all these customs were made using HOT TOYS bodies and it was just the heads & clothing that were customized ). The one of Police Sergeant Jim Gordon is one of my personal favorites as they did an amazing job on Gary Oldman's face. They did a few variations on Bruce Wayne's character which are pretty interesting. Overall, I would have to say that I'm very very impressed with all of these. As a side-note: I'm not really sure if they were all done by one artist or many different ones, but either way, very great work! Also, I wanna thank Jerry for taking the time to shoot these pics & sharing his love of the Batman Character with us. It's really neat seeing what goes on in Taiwan & it's so cool that there are serious Bat-Fans there too!!

BATMAN BEGINS Dell Laptop Computer SKIN-IT Graphic

I have a Dell laptop that I really love & the other night I went to the Official Dell Website to check out some information on it when all of a sudden I noticed the word "Batman" there. I can spot anything Batman from a mile away, ha ha, anyway I checked it out & they sell these large Graphic Stickers you can buy to customize your laptop. They are called SKINIT™. Some are generic abstract art, stock photos, football teams, & even characters like Spiderman. Here's the one for Batman & it looks like the Batman Begins movie.

UNIVERSAL DESIGNS: Official Licensed BATMAN Movie Replica Outerwear

There is a brand-new company out there now that has just emerged that will be making Official Licensed Movie Replica Outerwear from the Batman Begins & The Dark Knight movies. The company is UNIVERSAL DESIGNS & they will be making Movie Replica Leather Jackets, Leather Pants, & Boots that totally look like the original Batman Bat-Suit Costumes worn by Christian Bale in the 2 mentioned movies. They are sort of being marketed right now as both costumes & motorcycle gear...we'll see. The attention to detail sounds totally insane so I bet these will be pretty popular. Shown here are some of the blueprint-style graphics they present for a few products. There are a few more pictures like this at their website & of course as soon as they release anything we'll let you know. Right now there are not any pictures of the actual product because it's all in the "developmental stages". But overall it sounds like a really great concept. While surfing the net a few weeks ago I found the promotional website for a graphic artist who does alot of illustrations for Mad Magazine. His name is Tom Richmond & his art style is awesome! He reminds me alot of Vintage Mad Artist named Mort Drucker ( Did I spell that right? ). Up above is an example of his art where they did a parody of the BATMAN BEGINS Movie. Then there's also a promo shot of him & it looks like he's a big Batman Fan! At the moment I can't find his URL for a link but will add it to the BAT-BLOG LINKS Page later. Here's a really great photoshopped piece of ART! This is a "Movie Poster" done in the graphic style of the newer BATMAN BEGINS movie but it features the 1966 TV Show Batman, Adam West. This movie is called BATMAN BEGAN, ha ha ha! Whoever did it did a super-great job on it. Today I was feeling like posting some funny Batman pictures & the humor on this was so good it had to be posted!

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with Batman Begins GTA Mods

In the video game world there is a sub-culture where some very talented people ( I call them "Artists" ) create what they call "MODS". Basically they create a line of code to give a character or vehicle a whole new look & then they embed that code into the game. In this video we see the main character of "Grand Theft Auto" replaced with Batman & his car is now the Tumbler Batmobile...sweet!

Today is Christian Bale's 34th birthday. He was born on Jan. 30th, 1974. We want to wish Christian Bale a very very Happy Birthday! In a recent Bat-Blog poll we asked readers who their favorite Batman actor was & Bale is winning the poll by incredible numbers. The Batman Begins movie, and soon the Dark Knight, has brought the Batman film franchise OUT of the retirement. Most Batman Fans are very thankful for that & it has a lot to do with Christian Bale being such a great actor & so perfect for the role. Here's wishing him more success, happiness, & heath...Happy Birthday Dude!

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie News AARON ECKHART To Play Harvey Dent

I just read in the BAT-BLOG Message Boards that Variety Magazine named Aaron Eckhart as the actor Warner Bros picked to play Harvey Dent in the New Batman movie THE DARK KNIGHT! He was the lead character in a recent film called "Thank You For Smoking", about how evil the real-life tobacco industry is, ha ha. He looks like a good choice & I think the next bat-Film is gonna be awesome!!

Remember, you saw it here first! This is the 1st look at the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT Anime Batman Film by Warner Bros. For people living under a rock & have not heard of this DC UNIVERSE Animated Movie it will come out as a DVD just before the DARK KNIGHT Motion Picture is released in Summer 2008. It's gonna feature state-of-the-art animation done by some of the most major Japanese Anime artists & directors. The story will bridge the gap between the 2 Batman movies: Batman Begins & The Dark Knight. New information, featured in this video, will be that the villians in the story will be Deadshot, Scarecrow, & Killer Croc...kick ass!

BATMAN BEGINS Movie: Behind The Scenes of Making The Video Game

1977 BATMAN TREASURY COMIC BOOK : 1st Ra's Al Ghul Story with Art By Neal Adams.

Do you remember the HUGE over-sized comic books published by both Marvel & DC Comics called TREASURY COMICS? In the mid-1970's, when I was a little kid & seriously into comic books, I used to really love these & still do! ( I wish they would bring them back ). A friend of mine, named Rob, has a website totally devoted to these special books & it's an amazing site. In fact, I stole these pictures from there, ha ha! This issue was devoted to Batman & called LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION #C51 & came out in 1977. Basically it reprinted the Ra's Al Ghul storyline that took place in Batman #232, 242-244. The story & art was done by Neal Adams, Dick Giordano, Irv Novick, & Denny O'Neil. This story was a classic. As sort of a side note: DC Comics recently gave a cash award to Neal Adams for creating the Ra's Al Ghul character because he was used in the new Batman film BATMAN BEGINS. Also, shown here, is the original DC Comics advertisement that was featured in a lot of the comic books at that time. Sometime, if you get the chance, you should check out this site, it's way cool!

I know everyone wants more news about THE DARK KNIGHT but nothing BIG is happening right now so I though I would present this RARE older TV interview with Christopher Nolan ( Movie Director ) and Christian Bale about BATMAN BEGINS. This is pretty interesting, both people give a really great in-depth look at the character of Batman. Bale seems very enamored with all the graphic novels like Arkham Asylum, Batman Year One, & The Long Halloween. Charlie Rose has always been one of my most favorite reporters & I have a lot of respect for both him & his TV show. Now, Mr. Rose is on the internet! Welcome. ( Charlie Rose Fans will get my dumb joke about using the word, "Welcome", to finish my sentence, ha ha ).
