Our good friend Jerry, who lives in Taiwan, sent us some amazing photos the other day. He recently went to a store at some shopping mall in Taipei City called "Taiwan Figure Union". He said he saw a lot of awesome stuff, such as these 12" Batman Movie Custom Figures that some Bat-Fans got to display in the front store windows. I have to say that they are all very impressive with really great head sculpts. I mean, some of them look just like the original actors! The main focus for most of the dolls appear to be the 2005 BATMAN BEGINS movie, but in photo #2 we get to see a version from an earlier Batman movie, maybe 1992 BATMAN RETURNS-inspired. They made one of the "R'as al Ghul" character & it looks exactly like Liam Neeson, ha! They also made a more Modern Day "Comic Book JOKER" but used the body from THE DARK KNIGHT Heath Ledger figure by HOT TOYS ( in fact, I think all these customs were made using HOT TOYS bodies and it was just the heads & clothing that were customized ). The one of Police Sergeant Jim Gordon is one of my personal favorites as they did an amazing job on Gary Oldman's face. They did a few variations on Bruce Wayne's character which are pretty interesting. Overall, I would have to say that I'm very very impressed with all of these. As a side-note: I'm not really sure if they were all done by one artist or many different ones, but either way, very great work! Also, I wanna thank Jerry for taking the time to shoot these pics & sharing his love of the Batman Character with us. It's really neat seeing what goes on in Taiwan & it's so cool that there are serious Bat-Fans there too!!
OK Boys & Girls!! Today is the day we announce the lucky winner of the "1978 Reimagined Mego" Fantasy Catalog! But first I want to thank the MEGO MUSEUM for donating this wonderful prize because it is an extremely cool product! The color photos, custom toys, & overall design is very very excellent. Now, last night ( around midnight ) we pulled a random number out of a hat. We then checked our list of entries & the lucky winner is...Josh W. of Burlington, VT. Dude, you're our lucky winner!! Now, we will contact you again to confirm your address. Once that's done you will be getting this baby in the mail, congrats! For everybody else who entered we want to wish you luck on our next contest & sorry you didn't win this time. Hey, if I was a super-rich billionaire, like Bruce Wayne, then I would have sent everyone of these, ha!
Here's a very cool graphic sent to me by a friend at MySpace. He's an awesome graphic artist & he really made this...WOW! He seriously has alot of talent! This is The Dark Knight if he were a HELLO KITTY character! I love the shading & 3-D effect this picture has, it looks very "real". Looks like some kind of robot-toy too...awesome! Anyways, I thought this pic would be kinda funny to post. Plus, for those of you who appreciate good art or design, y'all will really love it! Yes, it is so cute, yes it is....who's the cute Hello Kitty, you are, yes you are!

I came across these the other day & knew I had to share them, they're totally hilarious! Here are a few MY LITTLE PONY Figures that have been completely customized to look like Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. These custom toys were made by an artist named Jodi K. Moisan & her work is extremely excellent! In fact, I wish that Hasbro would make these for real! She has done a ton of these & they are all really great but I thought I would focus on the Batman-related ones for this blog. But, if you're a comic book fan she also did many different Marvel Comics characters too & even some TV stars like Mr. T!

To celebrate this 250th post to the BAT-BLOG we thought we would do a very special story! Bob Kimball, a new friend to the BAT-BLOG, has these 2 awesome photos to share of a model BATCAVE DIARAMA SCENE he made. This is an exact replica model of the BATCAVE from the 1966 Batman TV Show done to the scale of the original 1960's Corgi Diecast Batmobile Car. So, the car was made by the classic toy company & everything else was made by Bob...WOW! The details to this model are extremely insane! He said he watched many hours of the TV show & freeze-framed certain moments to study the different elements of the Batcave because he wanted to capture the exact scale of every piece. It looks like he did just that & also did a great great job! He said, "This model took forever & ever to make!". As you can see in the photos it was lovingly pieced together & painted with great details! One pic has a coin to show the scale....nice! Thanx for sharing these pics with our BAT-BLOG readers Bob! Be sure to check out the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for many more RARE Vintage Toys like Mego, Corgi, Marx, Hot Wheels, Ideal, etc..Also, click on the top photo of the BATCAVE for a HUGE picture where you can really see the details of this great model! As always, you can click on the small picture above for a larger, more detailed, photo!!
For the longest time Mattel, the classic toy company, came out with a Giant-Size Barbie™ every year around the holidays. I'm not sure if they still make them now but I bet they do because they're pretty popular. Anyways, awhile back I saw this one on eBay where some very creative artist-type person totally customized it to look just like Yvonne Craig from the 1966 Batman TV Show. The details are awesome! The material for the costume is that shiny metallic-type cloth. The belt is also one of the best parts, what with the great attention to details & all. These dolls are wayyyy bigger than a regular Barbie™ & measures about 3 feet tall so this would be a very cool Display "Statue", check it out! Be sure to check out the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for many other vintage/new toys like Marx, Ideal, Mego, Lego, Corgi, Hot Wheels, etc..
A new friend to the BAT-BLOG is a cool guy nick-named PANZER. This guy is extremely serious about doing Original Customized Batman Model Kits! What he does is dream-up some really cool Batman-related vehicle he would like to see, but does not exist & makes his own. I'm only showing a few examples here but this guy is super-productive! At his webpage you'll find more than cool custom models of the Batmobile. He's also made a huge Batcave Diorama to display his Batmobile, Batplane, Batcopter, & Batboat collection. He's also making street scene dioramas with building facades to display action figures. There's a ton of cool stuff there. He's a recent BAT-BLOG LINK you can find in our Links Area, just click the button on the top right-hand side of the page. Once you get to our Official BAT-BLOG LINKS page his button is in the center row....enjoy! Oh yeah, be sure to BOOKMARK THE BAT-BLOG before ya leave!
The BAT-BLOG has a friend nick-named "BAT-ROB" who loves to customize Vintage 1970's Mego Action Figure Dolls & their accessories. Here's a picture of a Mego Batmobile that he customized & he did a really great job on it!! Basically he gave the car alot more details & some paint but what an amazing difference! He even added the glass windshields & made the tail-fins more accurate...WOW! I think he did such a great job on this I had to share it w/ my readers! The photo shows 2 cars: One is what a regular Mego Batmobile car looks like & the other one is the one he did....awesome! ( Click the Small Picture Above To See Larger Photo with Better details ).
