Here are some very cool videos showing some of the functions of the BATMAN DX 02 Figure by HOT TOYS. Of course it's the Christian Bale version from THE DARK KNIGHT movie. The doll has a lot of new technologies that are very clever. The 1st video is a demonstration of the Hot Toys-invented PERS ( Parallel Eyeball Rolling System ) function. Basically, the eyeballs move around in his head in a more realistic fashion. It's kinda creepy, but it also makes the figure look really awesome!
The next video shows off what I call the "Change-a-Face" feature. He has Interchangeable "Face Parts" that have different mouths. I guess you can make him happy or angry, ha ha!
Then, there's the "Sonar Eye Light-Up" feature...very cool! You replace an item inside his head that replicates the special "Sonar Cowl" he wore in one part of the movie. The eyes light-up & everything!
OK, whew! here's the final video & it shows how the "Transformable Gun" works. It's just like the movie where it was all compact & then it would transform into that weapon that shot "sticky bomb" charges on that building in Hong Kong. I think they went a little too far with this, ha ha, but it is great that HOT TOYS cares about ALL the small details. They make some really amazing collectible figures!!

They are a part of the DC SUPER FRIENDS Imaginext toy line by Fisher Price. The 1st photo shows their Exclusive Blue Batmobile with a few Super Hero & Villain Action Figures. We showed this awhile back in the original box but these are out of the package, loose. Which is cool because you get a way better look at the individual figures. The next 2 pics are some brand-new figures that you can also ONLY buy at Target. They include a special Batman Figure & one of Two-Face. I'm really loving the Two-Face one because, not only does the figure look pretty cool but, that Special Silver Dollar Coin is AWESOME! So, the next time to you hit this retail store be sure to keep an eye out for them. Also, I should mention that the Exclusive Batmobile with 6 figures is on Clearance Sale. The set included a toy bridge, Batman figure, Batmobile, & comic action activator. Batman Action Figure Collectors will need to be on the look out for this brand new series of BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT Movie Masters figures. The set of four will include: Two-Face, Joker Thug ( Bank Robber Goon ), The Jail Cell Joker, & a very weird "Batman Proto Suit". I'm really liking these, they're very cool!
Over at the MattyCollector website they're hyping the fact that in a few days, on March 15th, 2010, a Special SCARECROW Action Figure from THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Franchise will be made available! Personally, I think it looks pretty cool! It is sculpted by The Four Horsemen. It features full articulation and comes with a cloth version of his mask. Available first at the Official Mattel website at 12 Noon Eastern on March 15th, 2010. Then, Toys “R” Us in spring 2010. Here's an extremely RARE 1970's Mego Action Figure 8" Doll of Batman with Removable Cowl on a RARE "Kresge Card". The above photo ( which is a larger pic if you click on it ) shows both the front & back. Most of the Mego Batman figures has a "Batman head" with him permantly wearing the cowl but this one had a "Bruce Wayne" head with a cowl that came off....cool!If anybody has some cool pix of their favorite old bat-toys please send them! This was on eBay the other night & I thought it was too cool NOT to post! This is the Original Production Art for the Batman ( Dark Knight Collection, not the last movie ) "Blast Shield"Action Figure made by Kenner. This was a "boxed item" that came out, I think, in 1991. I remember when it was in the stores & I thought the box concept was kinda cool. But even cooler is this original artwork by Dick Giordano because he's such a Comic Book Artist Legend! I would totally love to have this & Christmas is coming up, hint, hint.
DC DIRECT just announced they will be coming out with their NEW line of DC Comics Action Figures of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS: SERIES 3. This 3rd Series looks even better then the other two. There will be 5 new figures in the Series: Superboy Prime, Earth 2 Huntress, Dr. Light, Weaponer of Qward, & of course Batman! The photo up above shows the one of Batman & I really love this figure! It's one of my favorite versions of Batman where he's wearing the classic grey / blue costume & has that awesome yellow utility belt with the "capsules". This reminds me of the 70's version of Batman when drawn by Neal Adams. No offense to DC but I could really get into these if they were not so expensive. But I guess you DO have to pay for quality & they're only avaliable at comic book stores which are usually kinda high on toys anyway so I guess the prices aren't too bad. OK, Hmmmm, this is kinda weird but here are 2 very strange Batman items from Russia. The 1st one is a famous "Bootleg Action Figure" of Batman, shown with original box! I have always thought the bootleg stuff was pretty funny but I don't really go out of my way to buy it. I've always thought every collector needs at least 1 item like this in their collection. Ya know, just for fun. There's some really great stuff made in Mexico that's very wacky! The 2nd photo is an original advertisement for the Canon IXUS 75 Digital Camera. It features a model who has more than one set of hands & he's making a Batman mask out of his fingers, yeah weird but it looks kinda cool. I can't read Russian but I think there's a silly caption up above his head, ha ha! Anyway, I thought some readers would enjoy this stuff because it's so obscure. For some reason you never see much Batman Memorabilia from the USSR...very cool!

The Bat-Blog posts 2 brand-new Batman Desktop Wallpapers every single Wednesday. It's a proud tradition & recently we have been getting a lot of Bat-Blog Readers sending us this material which is even better because besides making some extremely cool stuff it also creates some nice variety. Both of these are a perfect example. The 1st one was made by a friend named "Bacon" who used some graphics from the new graphic novel book titled THE JOKER. It was written by Brian Azzarello & has turned into a bestseller. The artwork ( used here ) was done by Lee Bermejo. His work is really amazing, a very talented guy. The 2nd background was sent to us by a girl named Danica. She took this photo of one of the Joker Bank Robber Goon Action Figures she has. Of course this is the character from the Dark Knight movie. It kinda cracks me up that Ironman ( from the movie ) makes an appearance. I wanna thank both Bacon & Danica for sending these in, they're really wonderful...good job! Remember the BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT Animated Movie that Warner Bros released awhile back? It was done in a very cool "anime style" & the DVD sold really well. OK, for 2009 they're gonna release a special DC Infinite Heroes 3-pack that is going to include some characters from the cartoon. Shown here are Batman, Deadshot, & The Scarecrow. These should be pretty successful so expect them to release even more of these. Be sure to click on the small graphic up above for a larger, more detailed, version.
A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named John, sent us some very cool photos of some amazing action figures he has customized. They all have a cool retro silver-age look about them & he did a great custom job! Check out the pics of the toys he made. You'll see Superman, Batman, Red Tornado, Hawkman, & The Joker too! The detailing in the costumes is very accurate & these figures look AWESOME! Thank you John for sharing these, you did a great job on them.
Early next year be sure to keep an eye out for this very cool Batman-related DC UNIVERSE Action Figure 2-Pack Set. It includes Batgirl & Azrael. But, remember, this is a TOYS-R-US Exclusive so you can only find it there. I think the Batgirl figure looks pretty cool!
Here's a new Fisher-Price Imaginext DC Superfriends item to keep an eye out for. This Gift Set is a Target Store Exclusive so you can only find it there. It retails for about $30 & that's a pretty good deal for what you get. So, don't pay the idiot scalper prices you see on eBay, ha ha! Once they restock their stores it should be around. I have pictures of almost all the figures & vehicles included but couldn't find a decent picture of the Robin figure & his special Motorcycle Bat-Bike. The other action figures include: The Joker, Mr. Freeze, & 2 different Batman. The vehicles are great too! They include: Bat-Copter, Bat-Wing Jet, & the Joker Car. I'm gonna be looking for one of these because as a multiple set it's really cool!
Here's a nice video sent in recently by a Bat-Blog Fan who's main focus is collecting just the Batmobile Toy cars. He just started to collect them & his collection is pretty cool so far. You can see he has a lot of the Action Figure Vehicles, some Corgi Die-Cast Cars, Batman Hot Wheels by Mattel, & a few Misc Toys. I know a lot of Batman Fans are gonna be really excited to see this Clayface Action Figure even though it's a re-issue. Mainly because he's one character that's kinda hard to find... plus he looks extremely cool! This will be a part of the new DC Universe Classics toy line by Mattel. This special 2-pack is coming out in January 2009, so look for it then.
Finally! Mattel just released some new images revealing the packaging design for their upcoming Batman: Brave and the Bold figure line. Slated to hit retail this January, each figure will star Snap and Switch technology allowing fans to reconfigure each figure's accessories into multiple gadgets on different plug-in points. Batman's jet pack becomes his battle armor, or instead, plug it into Blue Beetle to arm an ally. Snap and Switch features even work across the line letting you reconfigure vehicle parts as well...AWESOME! Also, remember that this TV Show is on the Cartoon Network every Friday, check your local listings for air time.
Here's a very interesting video from the 2009 TOY FAIR where a rep from Mattel shows off the cool function of the BATMOBILE / BAT-PLANE Toy Vehicle. It is, of course, from the new line of Batman: The Brave and The Bold Action Figures. It shows how it transforms from the car into the airplane...extremely cool! This toy is gonna be very popular with both little children & adult collectors!
