Video: Vintage BATMAN AND ROBIN Toy TV Commercial with the Riddler
This post features a really great Vintage TV Commercial but it is also a test because I created it then posted it on YouTube. So, I am seeing if it works, ha ha! This was a famous TV spot for Zeller's Toy Stores. I really like the art direction of the animation, not bad. It also features the Riddler as the main villain...enjoy! Oh yeah, if you have a blog then please embed this video on your site...thanks!

Zack's BATMAN TOY COLLECTION On Display!

Our Buddy Zack was kind enough to send us some photos of his cool Batman Toy Collection. Well, part of it anyway. He explained that this is about 1/4th of his total collection & he plans to take more pics when he gets the time. But for right now all this stuff is pretty neat to see! The 1st photo is an over-all shot of 2 shelves on one wall & the other 2 pictures are close-ups of each shelf. Most of the collection looks like newer stuff from "The Dark Knight" movie and I also see some vintage items from the Tim Burton 1989 Bat-movie too! There are even a few items from the "Batman: The Animated Series" era...very cool! I imagine that one day he will have to move to another location because his collection has got too big, ha ha! That seems to be a major problem with ALL Batman Collectors. There is so much stuff that you practically need a HUGE warehouse to store it all. But for me that's what makes it such a great challenge. It can, literally, take an entire lifetime to acquire everything...it never ends & that's great! Most toy collectors end up finding every item in their category they collect & it's over. Not with Batman stuff!! Thanks for sending us these photos Zack. You have an awesome collection & I really like how things are displayed! As always I want to invite all Bat-Blog Fans to send us their photos of anything Batman-related!

Dave's VINTAGE BATMAN TOY & MEMORABILIA Collection!

Check out these great photos from a Bat-Blog Reader named Dave who wanted to share some of his Batman Toy & Memorabilia with us. He has a really nice collection going here ( Please click the small pics up above to see larger, more detailed, photos ). I like how it's displayed & I also love all the vintage stuff. It's neat that he blends a lot of new pieces with the older items. I sort of crack-up a little bit every time I see that Official "Batman Television". I have the DVD Player ( love the design ) but never bought the TV. It's a really cool item that I'm gonna try to find someday! My favorite piece has got to be the Mego JOKER VAN, that thing is RARE! Plus, I guess for sentimental reasons, I had it as a little kid. I also like the "Batman Executive Set", 60's Soaky Bottle, Action Figures, Ideal Helmet, the Die-Cast Corgi Batmobiles, the "Carmine Infantino" Statue, Autographed Photos, the Vintage Halloween Costumes & Masks, the 1966 Coloring Books...the list could go on & on, all GREAT stuff! Thank you to Dave for sending the wonderful pics, I appreciate that a lot. If any other Bat-Fans out there would like to share pics of their collections then that would be great! Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Ernest's Cool BATMAN LOGO & BATMOBILE Toy Collection!

OK, I have said it a million times & I totally mean it, I love to see other people's Batman Toy Collections! It's always a game of "I got that, I want that, where did he get that?", ha ha! Here are some pics sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Fan named Ernest. He says that his main focus are the Batmobile Cars & just about anything with the famous "Yellow Oval" Batman Symbol Logo. I gotta say that there are some very cool items here! Of course it's almost impossible to pick out a favorite item here because everything is so awesome but I have to say that I really love the HUGE Remote Control Batmobile Car! I remember when it came out & I couldn't afford it at the time. But, someday, IT WILL BE MINE! Another neat thing to mention are the 2 Custom Driving-Light Covers that Ernest made. They are those 2 "Flat Yellow Circles" with Bat-Symbols cut-out of them that you can see in the bottom-center of the very last photo. They were made to fit the large Driving Lights on the front of his truck! These must look pretty cool all lit-up. Ernest, ya gotta send us a photo of that! In the mean time, I wanna thank you for taking the time to shoot all these great pics. Plus, you have the start of an amazing Batman Collection, keep it up! I want to invite ALL Bat-Blog Readers to send us photos of your collection...show us what you got!

Vintage 1967 BATMAN GIVE-A-SHOW BAT-PROJECTOR By Chad Valley

I was recently contacted by a Vintage Toy Collector in the UK. His main collecting obsession is the very wonderful GIVE-A-SHOW PROJECTOR SETS made by Chad Valley & Kenner. I think we all had one of these toys as a kid. I did, & truly loved it ( I think I had the one with Popeye ). Anyway, he's created a very well designed website that features many of these playsets & it's really great reference material for serious collectors. But, he wrote me to tell me about his post on this 1967 BATMAN TOY that capitalized on the popularity of the 1966 Batman TV Show. Ya see, I did a post about this cool collectible awhile back, right here on the Bat-Blog. He told me he has pictures posted of all the slides. His page has all of them & I posted just a few to give you an idea. So, be sure to visit his site to enjoy them all. I also want to ask ALL Bat-Blog Readers, who collect both new & vintage Batman toys, to please send me any info/photos you might have. Sharing the love of collecting is what this site is all about!!

Cool Japanese Batman Toys : Past & Present

As an obsessed Batman Toy Collector I totally love the "foreign stuff". A lot of collectors do because this merchandise, even with eBay's influence, never reaches the USA that often & when you come across it it's always super-RARE. I have always loved Japan & Japanese culture so to see bat-products made there has always been a treat. Here's just a few examples: The 1st photo is one of those wind-up figures of a "Movie Version Batman". From the look of it I would guess it was made during the "Batman Returns" period. I love the goofy look of this figure, it's great! The next item, this wonderful Batmobile Toy Car, came out during the 1992 Batman Returns movie. I love the graphics of the Bat-Signal shining over the skyline of Gotham City on the original box, very cool. The 3rd pic is something that's a little older because it came out during the first 1989 Batman Movie. They really went nuts merchandising that movie & even today there's a ton of products from that era. This wacky toy is a SOUND ARM Costume Piece. It was a bat-gadget thing you wore on your arm & it made a lot of different sounds. I bet it drove parents completely crazy with the bing bing boing boing sound-action, ha ha! The last photo is something that just came out maybe a year or two ago, in other words, it's pretty new. It's a pair of Batman Snow Boots. I always love the little kid's Batman slippers & shoes...they're so cute & great for display. Plus, if you don't buy them brand-new most of the time they're kinda hard to find on the "secondary market". Mainly because children totally wear them out! The graphics on this pair are AWESOME! I guess, as a last thing to say, if ANY Bat-Blog Readers have any photos of "foreign items" ( Both new or Vintage & not just from Japan, but from anywhere ) then please send them in to us. Remember, sharing the love of collecting is what the Bat-Blog is all about!

Amazing Photos of BATMAN Statue, Action Figures, & Toy Collection From The Philippines

OK, I have been meaning to post these photos of this amazing Batman Toy Collection for a very long time, but around the time I got them I was having some major issues with my email programs. So, to make a long story short, I don't have the name of this Toy Collector, I'm sorry. So today I decided to post these wonderful pics anyway. because they do sort of speak for themselves. Shown here is an incredible display of Batman Statues, Action Figures, & other Toys. This Collector lives in the Philippines& did an amazing job displaying all his stuff. I totally love the shelving here, very impressive. The 1st photo shows an over-all shot of the display area. Then, in all the other photos we get to see each individual shelf. I kept those pics pretty BIG so if you click on them you can see way more detail. This is some nice stuff!! I wanna thank the guy who sent these pics & also apologize to him for taking so long to get thee up ( Hey, please contact me, ha! ). Note: I also have some more photos from the same guy but because of space limitations I will present those later... Stay tuned because they're pretty cool too! Also, if any other Batman Fans out there have any fun pics to share then please do!

Video: Japanese Antique Vintage 1970's ALPS Batman and Robin BATMOBILE TIN TOY CAR Battery Operated
Here's a pretty cool video that was featured on an eBay posting ( I always think that's a really great idea to do that ). It's a Japanese ( Vintage 1970's ) ALPS Batman and Robin BATMOBILE TIN TOY that is one of those fun Battery Operated Cars! Now, this is a bootleg toy ( not licensed ) but still, it's a lot of fun & very very RARE! Plus, it's really neat to see it in action, ha!

A Few NEW BATMAN PRODUCTS That Are Cool!

Here are 2 photos of some brand-new Batman merchandise sent in by 2 awesome Bat-Blog Fans. I thought I would post them because they do make great Christmas Gift ideas. The 1st one is a box of BATMAN COLOGNE that our friend Jennifer found at ROSS. Ross is a Discount Clothing Store & they always have unique gift items. I think it's pretty cool that they're selling this & it's only $7.99, which is a good deal. I really like the graphics used on the box, a "Comic Book" version of the Caped Crusader! The next photo was sent in by our buddy "Batmobile Billy" who is totally into collecting all the different variations of the Batmobile ( hence the cool nickname, ha! ). Here is a perfect gift idea for that little boy or girl in your life, a Fisher Price Imaginext Batmobile Toy Car that comes with some "Toxic Barrels" to crash into. But the thing that's so cool about it is that it also has a lot of nice action figures with it too. There are three Villains: Two-Face, Joker, & Riddler. Plus, you get 3 Superheroes, six figures in all! Now please keep in mind that this is a TARGET Store Exclusive that you can ONLY find there. Well, I hope these ideas work for some people & thanks to both Jennifer & Billy for sharing their cool pics!

BATMAN TOY VEHICLES - Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds

Hey Kids! Do you know what time it is? It's Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday! Yes, we post some cool FREE Batman-Themed Backgrounds every single Wednesday! Why? Because I'm totally insane, yeah! This week I thought we would go with a "Batman Toy Vehicle" motif. The 1st one is a Bat-Cycle Toy that was made in the 1970's. I like the fuzzy-grainy look of it & it does make a really neat background. Please give it a try! The next one is a Diorama Set-Up made with a Corgi Car Batmobile Toy & a very small Batman Figure. This toy car looks like the one drawn by Norm Breyfogle in the 1980's Batman comic books...sweet! I wanna thank the fans who sent these pics in & if YOU want any special Bat-Wallpaper next week then just let me know!

MEGO MEET 2010 - Vintage Toy Collector Show

Do you remember those wonderful Mego Dolls from the 70's? Do you collect them? Well, the Mego Museum is having their annual MEGO MEET again this June. I know, that's about 3 months away but I thought I would report it now so many of you can make travel plans. I will probably remind everybody closer to the time it actually happens but it's good to know early. Now, for people who have never been, MegoMeet is a chance for the Mego Toy Collectors Community to get together in person to trade and buy parts and action figures, sit in on sessions designed to educate and answer questions about the Mego Corporation and the Toys they made, but more than anything a chance to hook up with friends and fellow collectors live and in person, instead of over the internet. This year it will be in Wheeling, West Virginia at the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum. The date for the event is June 11th & 12th, 2010. OK, this thing is always way too far for me to go so if any of you go please send us some cool pics!
