The BAT-BLOG wants to wish all of our readers a Safe & Happy Holiday Season! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! We thought this picture we found on the net was pretty funny! HA HA HA - Thanks for sharing it Christine.
This just in. It appears that Santa Claus will be totally unable to deliver toys to all the good little boys and girls of the world this year & Christmas is canceled! The Police have not been able to determine who has committed this crime but toxicology reports say it was a deadly toxin. Their only clue was a "Joker Playing Card" left at the scene of the crime. When we have more information on this incident we'll let you know. So, be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog.
From BRAVE AND THE BOLD #148 ( March 1979 ) we get the heartwarming Christmas story titled "The Night the Mob Stole X-Mas". Written by Bob Haney with artwork by Joe Staton and Jim Aparo. You can read the entire comic book at the Diversions of The Groovy Kind website, just click HERE!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Here's a nice assortment of FREE Batman Pictures & Christmas Graphics for your Webpage, Blog, or MySpace Layout...enjoy!
Remember to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for more Chistmas Batman Graphics! We also have a LINK BUTTON to a Large Assortment of FREE Batman Desktop Wallpapers, Check 'em Both Out!!
A friend to the Bat-Blog sent these very cool "Batman as Santa Claus" xmas pictures he wanted to share ( Thanks Kevin ). He explains that he "loves both Batman & Christmas" and that he got these images in a portfolio of Bruce Timm's artwork. Timm, of course, was the director & designer for Batman: The Animated Series. That's why these graphics have a "cartoon look" about them...they're AWESOME!
Since today is "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" & tonight is Christmas Eve I thought I would post a few that are holiday themed. The 1st one is actually a photo sent in to us from a reader named Iris who is from Germany. She has a cool collection of standees in her hallway & decorated them this year for Christmas with Santa Claus hats! I thought this photo was pretty funny & the idea is also very clever. The 2nd one is a now-famous graphic of the 1966 Batman TV Show Batmobile Car. It's sort of a parody of this classic Christmas song, "Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg, THE BATMOBILE LOST IT'S WHEEL, & the Joker got away...HEY!". Everyone here at the Bat-Blog wants to wish everyone in the whole wide world a very very MERRY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Here's a 1940's Golden Age Comic Book Cover that I thought would be appropriate for today's event, Christmas Eve. It's BATMAN # 27 from 1945 ( Be sure to click on the above photos for larger, more detailed, pics ). It shows Batman & Robin helping Santa Claus deliver toys to good boys & girls...it's a Classic! On the back cover was an advertisement for the Daisy Air Rifle company. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
A friend named Reis, who runs a cool blog called Geek Orthodox, sent me some amazing pictures last night of a recent event featuring HUGE Batman-related Cookie Art! Yeah, you read that right, Cookie ART! In Washington, every year, the downtown Seattle Sheraton Hotel hosts a Gingerbread Village display decoration in their main lobby for Christmas. This year they seemed to go with a "Superhero Theme". It looks like some awesome pastry chef artists went totally nuts making a huge Batman display. They made a few different Batman figures, a Joker & Scarecrow head, even the Tumbler Batmobile! I have a few photos here but if want to see a lot more of these edible creations then please visit his site.
It seems our friends Dallas & Daria are really getting into the Holiday Spirit this year! They decorated a few Batman, Joker, & Catwoman Statues with Christmas wreaths. The funny thing is the expression on Batman's face makes him look like he's not too happy with the whole idea, ha ha! But, overall, the 3 busts look pretty cool & I thought the picture would make a great Christmas Card image ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the funny pic ).
Just a friendly reminder that BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD is on TV tonight on Friday, December 12th. Be sure to check your local listings for correct time ( usually around 7:00 to 8:00 pm & if you miss it on Friday night they show another viewing early the next morning ). In this week’s episode, “Invasion of the Secret Santas”, the evil Fun Haus plans to steal Christmas with his army of robot Santa Clauses and killer toys including "Dynamite Dolly" Dolls and the "Presto Play Pals" Action Figures! Red Tornado teams up with Batman to save Christmas and in the process, finds his holiday spirit. Posted up above are a few scenes from the TV show & down below is a BATMAN / RED TORNADO DESKTOP WALLPAPER!
Here are 2 photos of some brand-new Batman merchandise sent in by 2 awesome Bat-Blog Fans. I thought I would post them because they do make great Christmas Gift ideas. The 1st one is a box of BATMAN COLOGNE that our friend Jennifer found at ROSS. Ross is a Discount Clothing Store & they always have unique gift items. I think it's pretty cool that they're selling this & it's only $7.99, which is a good deal. I really like the graphics used on the box, a "Comic Book" version of the Caped Crusader! The next photo was sent in by our buddy "Batmobile Billy" who is totally into collecting all the different variations of the Batmobile ( hence the cool nickname, ha! ). Here is a perfect gift idea for that little boy or girl in your life, a Fisher Price Imaginext Batmobile Toy Car that comes with some "Toxic Barrels" to crash into. But the thing that's so cool about it is that it also has a lot of nice action figures with it too. There are three Villains: Two-Face, Joker, & Riddler. Plus, you get 3 Superheroes, six figures in all! Now please keep in mind that this is a TARGET Store Exclusive that you can ONLY find there. Well, I hope these ideas work for some people & thanks to both Jennifer & Billy for sharing their cool pics!
Just a quick post to remind everybody to go to your friendly neighborhood Target Store because they have Batman Wrapping Paper! Yes! This was out last year & very hard-to-find. This photo was sent in by our friend Jennifer & thanks to her we get to see what the graphic design of the Batman Gift Wrap looks like...it's beautiful!
Here's some neat pics sent in by our good friend Jennifer. She likes to decorate her Christmas Tree with a Batman Theme & it actually looks pretty AWESOME! If I read the e-mail correctly, the 1st pic is this year's tree & the 2nd photo is from last year. Using a Plush Toy as a Treetop Angel is a great idea. Personally, I have a few Batman Ornaments ( mostly Hallmark ones ) in my Bat-Collection & could probably do a tree too. My only problem is I have absolutely NO space to put one, ha ha! So, Jennifer...I am totally super-jealous...JEALOUS! Plus, you did a great job. Thanks for sharing. If there are any other Bat-Blog Readers who decorated their tree with Batman stuff then please send us some pics too!
We reported at the Bat-Blog awhile back about all the special DC COMICS 75th Anniversary merchandise that the Bloomingdale's Store had. It was some really cool stuff, mostly clothing & T-Shirts. Most of it was totally EXCLUSIVE & you could only get it there. But check out this photo of a display they had around Christmas. It was for "DYNAMIC DUOS NIGHT". They had these custom-made Batman and Robin Manikins to show where the line for Santa Claus starts!
The Bat-Blog wishes everybody a HAPPY HOLIDAY! Old Saint Nick himself made an appearance on the 1966 Batman TV series on December 22, 1966 in an episode titled "The Duo is slumming". It was one of those "special guest" moments where, while Batman & Robin are climbing up the side of a building, a person pops their head out the window. Santa Claus was played by the wonderful character Actor Andy Devine ( Thanks Jackie! ).
Here are 2 Batman & Joker graphics you can use to decorate your MySpace layout or use in an e-mail or website! Please feel free to browse the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for more Batman-related xmas pictures!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Here's a nice assortment of FREE Batman Pictures & Christmas Graphics for your Webpage, Blog, or MySpace Layout! The top picture was donated by a friend at MySpace & the others I hand-selected from the few pics I was able to find on Google. The very top one is some great ART by Dick Sprang who I think also did the vintage comic book cover at the bottom. The picture in the middle was done by Jim Lee for the official DC Comics Company/inhouse Christmas card & it features the DARK KNIGHT getting a NEW Batmobile ( the one from Batman Begins ) from Santa Claus, awesome artwork!....enjoy!
OK, this year I'm not really in the holiday spirit just yet but I know a lot of Bat-Fans probably are by now so I thought I would post this awesome BATMAN XMAS Desktop Background that was sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader. His name is Andrew & I really appreciate the effort he put into this cool wallpaper picture, it's an ART masterpiece! It uses some vintage-style graphics by Sheldon Moldoff...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!! ( OK, I'm in the holiday spirit now, ha ha! ).
