I got a wonderful email last night from a Bat-Blog Reader named Matthew who reported that TARGET Retail Stores are carrying Batman-related merchandise in their "Dollar Bins" again, awesome! So, be sure to keep an eye out on your next trip there. The "Dollar Bins" are usually located near the front of the store, as soon as you enter. Personally I really love the fun stuff they sell. Matthew said he bought a Batman Sticker Pack (with a play scene), 2 Activity Books, and 2 Jumbo Activity Books. There were also a lot more items that he did not purchase like: Another Sticker Pack, Motion Stickers, 4 Packs of Crayons (Batman themed and Joker themed), Markers, Push-Up Pencils, and 2 little Childrens Books one of which was a Riddler story. These are just in time for Back to School! Plus remember, you are never to old to color in a Batman Coloring Book, ha ha! To give you an idea what they look like check out the pics that he sent, Thanks Matthew!!
We reported at the Bat-Blog awhile back about all the special DC COMICS 75th Anniversary merchandise that the Bloomingdale's Store had. It was some really cool stuff, mostly clothing & T-Shirts. Most of it was totally EXCLUSIVE & you could only get it there. But check out this photo of a display they had around Christmas. It was for "DYNAMIC DUOS NIGHT". They had these custom-made Batman and Robin Manikins to show where the line for Santa Claus starts!
Here at the BAT-BLOG we like to think globally & act locally. Did I say that right? Does that make sense? What I mean to say is that we have this blog that reaches the world on a daily basis. We get around 300+ visitors a day, that's about 12,000 a month! We get e-mail from readers who live everywhere: Japan, Texas, California, Argentina, Germany, Kansas, The UK, etc...We love it! But, we live in Oklahoma City, OK. That's the neat thing about the internet. We're all connected. But, I wanted to take a moment to praise a new business in my hometown. The place is ALL-STAR COMICS. They have just opened & I know they want to invite everyone here in Oklahoma to come check them out. The graphic up above covers their address & phone information so if you live in the area please give them a visit. They are open 7 days a week. I know the guy who owns it & he's a nice guy. He runs his business with fairness & honesty...a good place to buy comics for sure. This new store just started but so far it's looking pretty good & they have a great selection of both new & vintage comics. So remember, if you live near Oklahoma City, give ALL-STAR COMICS a try!!
On Saturday July 10th, 2010 ( from 2:00 to 4:00pm ) legendary comic book artist Neal Adams will be signing copies of BATMAN: ODYSSEY # 1 at the Midtown Comics Store in Times Square ( NYC ). Now, down below I posted the address from their official website but you might want to check with them for any other information. I'm not sure if they will be charging a fee for the autograph or if it's free so please be warned. Either way it would be really great to get this famous issue signed!

A Good Citizen named Perry sent this wonderful photo with some very interesting information. The TRADER JOE'S store in Culver City, California, had a mural on its wall that pays homage to the 1966 Batman TV series ( click on the above photo for a larger, more readable version ). It reads, "Commissoner, The prices at Trader Joes are so low, it's GOT to be a crime!", ha ha! The underneath the mural there's a painted plaque that says, "BATMAN The Television Series was filmed in Culver City from 1966-1968." Awesome!! Thank You Perry, this is in deed a great piece of Bat-History!
Well, it looks like Adam West revamped his personal website & one feature of it is a STORE area where you can buy autographed items. He has his biography paperback book titled "Back To The Batcave" on sale, signed of course. Then there's a brand-new DVD movie called "Adam West Naked". Here's what the site says about it, "A brand new 2-Disc DVD produced by and starring Adam West. It contains over 3 hours of footage in which Adam goes episode by episode, recounting his personal memories and telling never-before-heard stories about his experience creating the iconic 1960’s Batman TV series. Amusing and intimate, this DVD immerses fans in the world of the classic Batman series in unparalleled depth. The classic Batman speaks alone to you, the viewer, in a variety of amusing settings, whispering in the attic, or astride an imaginary horse at his home. This DVD is a must for any true Batman fan. It will be signed and personalized on the DVD jacket any way you wish." Now, the DVD movie sells for $50.00 which isn't too bad considering that it's both autographed & has about 3 hours of wacky entertainment. Oh yeah, you can visit his site by clicking HERE!
Be sure to hit your local friendly neighborhood comic book shop to stock up on some free comic books!
Our friend Luis sent this photo of when he saw Batman, the Dark Knight. Not the movie but the life-size statue! Ha Ha, this was at a major toy store in Spain. I love that Batman is popular all over the world, that's cool! Thanks Luis, for sending the awesome pic!
