Here's a really cool photo showing some SUPER-RARE Pepsi Bottle Caps from Argentina!
You got these off Pepsi Cola bottles & on the inside they feature pictures of various DC Comic Book Characters. There's Superman, Batman, Robin, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Green Arrow, Krypto, Hawkman, etc.. There are also some cool villians like the Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, Lex Luthor, Mr. Freeze, etc..This photo was sent in by our great friend Ramiro, who lives in Argentina....Thanks Ramiro! Video: Burger King 1980's TV Commercial with SUPER POWERS Cup Holder Collection

Back in the late 1980's the Kenner Toy Company teamed up with Pepsi & Burger King to bring you these 4 SUPER POWERS collectible cups. The set included Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, & Darkseid. I always thought it was kinda weird that they chose "Darkseid", ha ha. Shown up above is the original store display for the cups & then be sure to watch the rare vintage TV commercial...because it's super-fun!

Confessions of a Superhero - Video Documentary Movie

Recently there was a Documentary Film I wanted to see but it had very limited distribution & I missed it. Well, I'm pretty happy to say that now it is on the Hulu website & you can watch it for free. It's about an 1 1/2 hours long & is pretty fun to watch. The basic story is about these 4 real-life people who make their living working as superheros on Hollywood Boulevard. I thought I should post it here because, besides being a very interesting movie, it has Batman as one of the characters. The four "actors" portray Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, & The Incredible Hulk. I should also add that Ghost Rider, Margot Kidder ( Lois Lane ), & Chewbacca make brief appearances. Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that since it has a slightly adult theme to it you will have to register with Hulu but it's not a big deal, you can do that in just 5 minutes.

More Super-RARE Vintage Batman Toys from Argentina!

These 2 cool photos were sent to us by our good friend Ramiro from Argentina! The top pic shows a few RARE Spanish PVC Figures of Superman, Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, some "Space Lady", Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, & The Riddler! There's also a vintage-looking Batmobile that sort of looks like the one made by Kenner for the Superpowers Toys, remember those? ( Click on the small photo above for a larger, more detailed, picture! ). The 2nd picture shows 2 larger-sized action figures with a 1966 TV Show-version Batmobile toy car...awesome! New Batman Merchandise Made By NECA To Look Out For!

The other day I was trolling the NECA Website for some new Batman products. Later this year they will release 2 new Batman Items that are not "Dark Knight" movie related but will feature vintage retro-style graphics. The 1st piece of merchandise uses the most retro-thing you can have... it's a large BATMAN GOLDEN AGE 1939 COMIC BOOK COVER Hanging Fabric Wall Scroll. Of course, it's the cover to Detective Comics #27 which we all know was the very first appearance of the caped crusader! It measures about 22" X 32", which is actually kinda BIG! I'm really liking this item & think it will be a "must have"! They also have a vintage ACTION COMICS / SUPERMAN cover too. The next photo shows us some neat SUPERHERO TIN BANKS they're gonna release & one of them is Batman! The other two are Superman & Wonder Woman. These too have retro-graphics because they sort of look like they have 1980's artwork. If anyone knows who the artist is for these please let me know. I think they look kinda like Dick Giordano's artwork. Classic DC Comics Superhero Head Knockers By Neca - Batman!

Just a quick post: One of the websites I buy bat-stuff from featured a set of three "Classic DC Comics" Resin Head Knocker Nodders of Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman made by a toy company named NECA. They had the items "pre-listed" meaning they were not available to buy yet. Then, they never came out or were instantly sold-out. Now, they are offering another set of Head Knockers called "Classic DC Comics, Series 2". This set offers another Batman & Superman in more of an "action pose". Also, the other character they have this time is the Green Lantern. I missed the first set & didn't get to report on them because they were "not avaliable". So, I will be getting this Batman Bobblehead this time & I'll search eBay for the 1st one. The thing I like the best about these Bobble-Head Nodders, mainly the Batman Nodder, is he is dressed in the Classic Silver-Age-Style costume. It's blue & grey with the "yellow capsule" bat-belt & the "yellow oval" chest bat-symbol...awesome! Here's a link if you want to pre-order them too:

BATMAN CHECKS & ADDRESS LABELS - FUNNY!

I just opened a new bank account the other day & needed some checks. While surfing thru a webpage called CHECKS IN THE MAIL I found some Batman checks & address label sets. Actually they are DC Comics Super Hero checks & labels. Ya see, they make you also buy Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, & Flash. But, the checks & Labels with Batman are pretty cool! Batman CUSTOM BATMOBILE: 1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster Race Car

Here's a very beautiful car that was offered on eBay recently. It's a customized 1965 Cobra Shelby Roadster Race Car! The weird thing is that it didn't receive any bids. What the hell?! The starting bid was only $35,000 which I think is a total steal. If you're interested in this car you should keep an eye on eBay because I bet he puts it back on. His name is LIFE_SIZE_FIGURES. I think he got his name from the comic book character manikins you see in the 1st photo because he sells those too. He has a Joker, Poison Ivy, & Wonder Woman that are all life-size. Also, look at that kid in the photo, ha ha! He has an expression on his face like he's totally surprised & shocked....funny!

Foreign Advertisement BATMAN PREMIUM AIRPLANE TOY Nesquik Chocolate Milk Drink Mix

I hate being stupid! What I mean by this is I can only read English, ha ha! Here's an example: I found a very cool photo showing a "foreign comic book ad" where they promote a special offer of a "Superhero Airplane" inside Nesquik Chocolate Milk Drink Mix. There were 4 planes to collect: Superman, Wonder Woman, Robin, & Batman! If I could only get 2 of these you know which ones they would be! I also like the actual product packaging too. I wish I had photos of the real thing, that would be cool. It's hard to tell but I also don't know if these were given away FREE inside the package or if they were a mail-away item where you had to collect points. It might say so in the ad but again, I am stupid, ha ha! The copyright information is too small to read but I'm guessing this was from the early 1980's, maybe 1981-82. If anyone knows the language or country please let me know. I'm gonna guess Argentina or Brazil & I'm pretty sure the language is Spanish.

Kenner's SUPER POWERS 25th Anniversary Special CONTINUES!!

Regular Bat-Blog Readers were recently assaulted here with our special wacky celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the 1984 Kenner SUPER POWERS Action Figures. Just scan down below for all the posts, it was crazy! Well, a new friend named Scott read them a few days ago & was inspired to send us this very cool photo! Scott said, "...a long time ago, when he was a little kid, his Dad begged their local Burger King to please please give his son this special store display sign that they had there" ( What a great Dad!! ). Of course we're talking about the SUPER POWERS CUP HOLDER COLLECTION Promotion they had back in the mid-1980's. I totally remember these, they were kinda cool! They made 4 Plastic Cups with Figural DC Comics Super Hero Characters: Superman, Wonder Woman, Darkseid, & the Dark Knight himself, Batman! Actually, Darkseid was a Villain, but you get the idea. Thank you Scott for sending this wonderful photo & sharing that great story, that's really neat. Also, this sign is pretty awesome if ya ask me!

Vintage 1970's SEA WORLD & THE SUPER FRIENDS Amusement Park Theme Show

In response to a recent post here at the Bat-Blog, where we had a video of this subject, we got this Vintage Comic Book Advertisement. ( You can see the video by clicking HERE! ) I remember this ad! It was always on the backs of comic books in the1980's. It advertised a "DC Superhero" Water-Ski Theme Show they had at SEA WORLD. I always lived way too far away from these things to go & was always bummed-out by the distance, ha ha! But, other than remembering a serious childhood trauma, I do wanna sincerely say Thank you for sending it in, it's really a cool piece of Bat-History, from the "comic book character + Amusement Park" angle. It features a mind-blowing collection of superhero and comic book rarities, including the first sketch of the Joker, the Original 1966 Batman TV Show Bat-Cycle, the earliest known sketch of Superman, a RARE copy of Action Comics #1 ( 1st appearance of Superman ), Captain Marvel Toys, Wonder Woman Memorabilia, & much much more! The event runs from February 19th - August 9th, 2009. I wish it wasn't so far away from me or I would go, it sounds extremely cool!
