The other day I was talking to a friend & he said, "Oh yeah, I thought of you last night because I saw a TV Commercial featuring The Dark Knight Batman movie". I asked about it further & he said it was for some kind of pizza deal but he didn't see the whole thing. I just assumed that Domino's Pizza brought back their "Gotham City Special". Well, I was wrong. I went to Papa John's Pizza last night to pick up our order & they had these special BATMAN GIFT CARDS on sale. It seems that Warner Bros teamed-up with them to promote the release of The Dark Knight to DVD & Blu-Ray Disc. If you buy one of these Gift Cards you can use them yourself ( like if you're gonna get a pizza anyway ) or just ask the manager if you can have one. I did & they just gave me one. They also make great Christmas gift ideas too, ha ha. Oh yeah, on the box they have a coupon for $3.00 off your Dark Knight DVD movie purchase, not too shabby.
Right now, in Japan, the Pepsi-Cola Company & Kubrick Toys have teamed-up to do a give-away premium promotion that a lot of Batman Fans should be excited about. You can get a free BEARBRICK figure, each with a different "movie theme". There are 12 to collect & two of them are related to The Dark Knight Batman movie! One of them looks like Christian Bale's Batman & the other one is the Joker ( Heath Ledger )! Oh man, they're actually really cool!! Be sure to click on the graphic up above for a larger, more detailed, photo. The whole promo is tied in to the release of a new cola beverage called Pepsi NEX ( Zero Calorie ). It looks like our buddy "Brohawk" aka David Williams has been pretty busy since we talked to him last. Ha Ha, This is sort of funny news because it's true! Recently, while Warner Bros was busy promoting the new DARK KNIGHT Batman movie in the UK, they got a ticket on the Tumbler Batmobile for illegal parking! Apparently they parked the car in a "No Parking" area while displaying the car in public. The British Police Officer had no choice but to give them the ticket. Right now, over in Brazil, they have a promotion for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie with the DANIX Cookie Company. ( In Brazil they call the movie "O Cavaleiro Das Trevas" ). There are 2 different packages of cookies with beautiful graphics on them! They also have a special "Sticker Collector's Album" you can get & inside each package are a few stickers. There are 28 Batman Stickers to collect. My picture up above shows a small example of them. They feature a lot of the stock art showing the Tumbler Batmobile, The Joker, & other graphics from the movie. I know it's totally crazy but I would really love to have a few packages of these, ha ha! Collecting the weird "Batman food packaging" is a side-hobby of mine. A new friend over at MySpace, named Jessica, sent me this very cool photo showing an amazing new find of hers. She found a "DARK KNIGHT" Film Store Display at a Suncoast Store &, I guess, begged the store manager for it! I know she sent this photo, not to brag, but to torture me... because it's pretty well known how I go totally goo-goo over store displays, ha ha ha! She had a few other pictures at her site that were "Batman-related" so I stole those too & she doesn't know that those will be posted here too, so HA HA! The other two had to be stolen because they are very cute & kind of funny. In one she's a little girl meeting Batman in 1994 ( very cute ) & the other one is her more modern day & she's just being silly ( very funny ). Thanks Jessica for the great photos, I appreciate that. Yes, the TDK store display you have is very very cool, I'm jealous, JEALOUS!! ha ha!!
OK, This is kind of funny! As the main writer of the Bat-Blog I am always constantly stressing out about how I can promote the site. It's a very difficult thing to do. If I were to study the growth of this blog ( or ANY blog for that matter ), it's an extremely slow process to obtain new readers. It totally drives me crazy, ha ha! For example, awhile back I printed a small ad-sheet that I gave to people to advertise the site ( I still do it even today ). But one time, about 2 years ago, I got all "Guerrilla Marketing" about it, & taped one onto a Newspaper Vending Machine. Now the part that's totally hilarious is that it lasted for almost 2 1/2 years! I always wonder if it had any value at all...did it bring in any new people? Probably not, or if so, not too many. One thing I've learned is that the best response is by "word of mouth". So, what I'm gonna do here is ask every single reader of the Bat-Blog, at least those who enjoy the site, to please tell all their friends about it. You can do it inside a Message Board, with a Banner or Bulletin on your MySpace page, a Link on your own Blog, a Link-Post on your Facebook Page, e-mail a friend who likes Batman, etc... But please don't do what I did this one time & plaster a sign on some property, ha ha! If you need to know ways to promote the Bat-Blog or if you need a special-sized banner then just please shoot me an e-mail. I would be more than happy to help! One last thing, I hope a lot of people out there enjoy this site & I want to thank everyone who comes back to read it every single day. It really means a lot.

Regular Bat-Blog Readers were recently assaulted here with our special wacky celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the 1984 Kenner SUPER POWERS Action Figures. Just scan down below for all the posts, it was crazy! Well, a new friend named Scott read them a few days ago & was inspired to send us this very cool photo! Scott said, "...a long time ago, when he was a little kid, his Dad begged their local Burger King to please please give his son this special store display sign that they had there" ( What a great Dad!! ). Of course we're talking about the SUPER POWERS CUP HOLDER COLLECTION Promotion they had back in the mid-1980's. I totally remember these, they were kinda cool! They made 4 Plastic Cups with Figural DC Comics Super Hero Characters: Superman, Wonder Woman, Darkseid, & the Dark Knight himself, Batman! Actually, Darkseid was a Villain, but you get the idea. Thank you Scott for sending this wonderful photo & sharing that great story, that's really neat. Also, this sign is pretty awesome if ya ask me!
OH MY GOD!! The other night our good friend Craig, who lives in Scotland, sent us these amazing photos he shot at a promo exhibit which was on at his local Toy's R Usin Glasgow. It seems that Mattel was there to promote their line of "Batman: The Brave & the Bold" TV Cartoon Action Figures & they showed this life-size Batmobile Car!! The funny thing for me, when opening my e-mail box, was the 1st picture I saw was just the car with nothing in it for scale. So, I had no idea is was so super-large. I just thought, "OK, he just bought the action figure vehicle & sent a photo of it, that's cool". Well, about the 3rd or 4th photo I saw his Dad standing next to it & I'm like, "Wait! OMG, This is a HUGE Batmobile Car, ha ha!!" Oh man, this thing is totally beautiful!! I seriously love this thing & I know they ( Mattel ) would NEVER sell it so I did suggest that Craig & I go steal it, ha ha! Unfortunately Craig has not responded to my request yet. So, I guess I'll have to break in all by myself. Man, I know this thing is gonna be so heavy. If Craig were there it would be a lot easier to carry. Thank you Craig for sending these totally awesome pics, I really appreciate it! It looks like you & your Dad had a lot of fun at this event, that's wonderful. Seeing the smiles on your faces are totally worth it. Plus, I'm only kidding about stealing it, so don't worry, ha ha!
In a previous post we showed the graphic art for the packaging to the Reeces Candy that will feature pictures of Christian Bale as Batman, from The Dark Knight Batman movie. Yes, they're gonna make "Batman-Themed" Reeces Pieces & Peanut Butter Cups, ha ha! Well, this just came in. This is the Promo Poster for the sale of the candy bars...with an awesome photo of Batman from the movie! I love how the background as an extremely detailed photo of Gotham City plus you get another look at the Batman-Suit costume. These will probably be displayed in convenience stores & when they do I'm gonna have to pester my friend who works at 7-11 to let me have one, ha ha!

Now that The Dark Knight Batman movie has been out awhile some of the more obscure information about it's promotion is starting to reach us here in the US. Like, I didn't know, that during the film's release in Finland they had a "Happy Meal-Type Set of Toys" in their fast food restaurants called Hesburger. I mean, I have NEVER even heard of Hesburger! ( It looks a lot like McDonalds or Burger King ). Anyway, they had a set of 5 promo toys for The Dark Knight. The ONLY information I have is some of the graphics from their old website but I can't read anything there because it's totally in Finnish. I think it happened a few months ago & I do know that right now they are hyping the new Pink Panther 2 movie so these TDK Toys are not out now. If there are any English-speaking Bat-Blog Readers who understand Finnish, or know of Hesburgers, then please let me know. The toys seem kinda cool but are also sort of generic. I can't make them all out from just the photo but a few items look like a Velcro-Ball Dart Board Game, maybe a Small Bat-Shaped Kite, a Paddle Game ( the kind where you catch velco-balls on a piece of cloth material-covered disks ), a Dark Knight Hacky Sack ( very cool, I love Hacky! ), & maybe a small Soccer Ball-Type Ball. Sorry, I can't translate anything at the site & the pictures are kind of vague. But, check out the pic up above & you'll see. I guess I should mention that if there are any readers who live outside the US, and know about any wacky Batman Toys ( fast food or not ) then please let me know so I can share that info. The main purpose of the Bat-Blog is sharing the love of collecting the RARE Batman merchandise!
