Shown here is an old advertisement for a special BATMAN 45 rpm RECORD that was "supposedly written" by Bob Kane, the "creator" of Batman. This ad appeared in the back of comic books in the late 1960's. Bob Kane wrote the main song "Have Faith in Me". It was performed by Hank Leids & the Bat-Group COURAGE. The song on the B-Side was titled "You've Got Me Crying". As a BONUS, when you bought this record, you also got a 4 X 5 photo of Bob Kane sitting in the original Batmobile Car, signed by him of course! This product was published by Downing Records. Now, I'm wondering... has anyone EVER seen this record or the autographed photo? It's gotta be super-RARE as, in my 20+ years of obsessive bat-collecting, I have NEVER ever seen it! If anyone has a photo of this rare gem I would appreciate you sending a pic of it to share. Remember, the Bat-Blog is ALL ABOUT the love of collecting Batman Memorabilia!!
We announced awhile back about our latest contest where we are giving away a FREE Autographed Signed-Copy of Chip Kidd's brand-new book titled BAT-MANGA: THE SECRET HISTORY OF BATMAN IN JAPAN. The responses have been pretty amazing & since we have more than one copy we are still accepting entries as we speak ( For information on how to enter just click on the BAT-MANGA CONTEST GRAPHIC at the top of this blog, just under the header ). Well, I decided last night to finally pick a name out of the hat so here we go! The very 1st Signed Bat-Manga Book Winner is... Chad C of Gallatin, TN! Thanks Chad, please be sure to send us an e-mail to confirm your complete mailing address & then soon after we will be mailing you this book. Now, for everybody else who entered there are still a few to give away so stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because you just might be our next lucky winner!
Adam West revamped his website & there's even a few brand-new autographed photos you can buy. One that I thought was pretty cool is this image of him as Mayor West dressed like Batman with Brian as Robin, The Boy Wonder. It combines 2 different TV Shows he has done, Family Guy & 1966 Batman. Actually he still does Family Guy, but you know what I mean. This image is pretty funny! You can visit his site by clicking HERE!

The big news right now is that "Celebrity Authentics", a company that hires big-name actors & movie stars to sign photos & movie posters, finally got 2 new Batman Actors in their stable of celebrity autograph signers. They now have Christian Bale & Michael Keaton! Both of these actors are hard to get signatures from but now you can buy autographed items from them through the company. In the past they have also worked with other Batman Stars: Adam West, Burt Ward, Frank Gorshin, Burgess Meredith, Mark Hamill, Val Kilmer, & others. They also work with John Travolta, Tobey McGuire, Robert Downey Jr, Eric Bana, William Shatner, Leonard Nemoy, etc... You can check out their website by clicking HERE!
The BAT-BLOG is mainly known for RARE Vintage Batman Toys and Memorabilia but every now & then we like to post some really wacky stuff! Here's a great example: This is an original check for Adam West that shows what his autograph looks like & it also appears that Mr. West deposited $300.00 to his account. Ha ha, that's funny! Autograph collectors love Personal Checks from famous people because they're very hard to forge & are usually authentic. Plus, they are kind of unusual & sometimes have historical value. This one was written on October 14th, 1981.
On Saturday July 10th, 2010 ( from 2:00 to 4:00pm ) legendary comic book artist Neal Adams will be signing copies of BATMAN: ODYSSEY # 1 at the Midtown Comics Store in Times Square ( NYC ). Now, down below I posted the address from their official website but you might want to check with them for any other information. I'm not sure if they will be charging a fee for the autograph or if it's free so please be warned. Either way it would be really great to get this famous issue signed!

OK, It's making me kinda sad but we're about to end ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER MONTH here at the Bat-Blog! It's actually been going on for over a month but who's counting, ha ha! Right now we have finally reached the last contest to win some Boy Wonder goodies! For new readers unfamiliar with what's been going on, we have been giving away Burt Ward ( Robin ) Autographed Memorabilia ( mainly his Tell-All Biography Book & 8 X 10 Signed-Photos ). The thing is that Burt Ward has a brand-new website that he's really excited about & he asked us to help promote it. Now, when your childhood hero asks for a favor ...how can you say NO? I mean, come on, really, ha ha! Burt Ward was very generous in giving us a lot of really great prizes to give away. I really appreciate that & think it's great that fans get a chance to win some cool stuff, it's been a lot of fun! Now, we have almost reached the end of this promotion & we have this one last item to give away...but, it's really cool so I know everybody will want to enter! This contest is for an Original, Authentic, Burt Ward Autographed, Signed 8X10 Color Photo of him as Robin, The Boy Wonder from the 1966 Batman TV Series. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, it's displayed inside a nice bag with backing board, a cool graphic header card, it has the "Robin Hologram Sticker", & did I mention, it's AUTOGRAPHED!? Plus, I guess I gotta mention that this photo is very sharp & really super-nice quality, please excuse my awful picture here! This TV show is a Bat-Fan Favorite so good luck on entering! Basically, all you do is e-mail us your COMPLETE NAME & ADDRESS with the phrase, "I Love Robin, The Boy Wonder!" in the title. That's it, pretty easy! Now, on July 5th, 2009 we will randomly pick a winner out of the hat & then announce it right here on the Bat-Blog the very next day. So, if you enter be sure to keep an eye out for that! Plus, remember, this is the very last contest in the BOY WONDER promotion. I guess I wanna end this post thanking everybody who has been participating in all the previous contests. You guys have made this a total success so far & I really appreciate that...I hope you have had some fun! I also wanna thank Burt Ward for making a childhood dream come true & also for being so generous with the giving of these amazing prizes. It really shows what a great guy he truly is. Seriously people, he sincerely appreciates his fans & it's great that he's also a wonderful person. Thank you Burt!! I'm not quite sure if this photo is real or shopped but if it is an actual real-life pic then it is completely hilarious! Here's some guy holding out a pen & 8 X 10 photograph to Actor Jack Nicholson & asking for an autograph. The guy must not know anything about the different characters in the movies because it's NOT the "1989 Batman Movie" version of the Joker, that Jack played, in the photo, but it's the later Dark Knight movie "Heath Ledger" version. What?! Does he think that all Jokers are the same? I totally love the expression on Jack's face...like he's looking at a total moron & can't believe it, ha ha!

OK! I'm extremely excited to say that it is still "Robin, The Boy Wonder Month" here at the Bat-Blog! Awhile back we teamed-up with Burt Ward to help promote his brand-new website called ROBINTHEBOYWONDER.COM. Of course we all know him as the actor who played Robin on the 1966 Batman TV Show. He's really proud about his new site & he asked us to give a few fans a chance to win some cool prizes. I was like, "Oh my god, my childhood hero has contacted me to ask if I can give away some incrediable prizes to my blog's readers... how could I say NO to that?!" Ha Ha! So, proudly, we're now offering Bat-Blog Readers ( above the age of 18 or legal age only ) the chance to win a signed-copy of Burt Ward's Biography Book titled "BOY WONDER, My Life In Tights". As you can see it's completely autographed with the name BURT WARD "ROBIN" on the front title page. It also has a special "Robin The Boy Wonder" Hologram Sticker to prove it's authenticity! This book recalls Burt Ward's many adventures that happened around the time he did the 1966 Batman Television Series. Plus, some of his life afterwards. It's a total Bat-Fan Favorite & now you have a chance to win your very own copy, signed by the Boy Wonder himself! Also, there will be more prizes later so stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for those ( we're doing one contest at a time but have a few things to give away ). The rules are pretty simple. Due to the adult nature of this book all entrants must be of Legal Age Only! That means you have to be at least 18 years old or older in the USA. What you need to do is e-mail us your FULL NAME & ADDRESS with the message, "I am a legal adult ( 18+ ) & wish to enter this contest". You also need to put "ROBIN THE BOY WONDER'S NEW WEBSITE" in the title of your e-mail.
Here's the Rules Again, Just To Clarify: - Send us your Full Name & Address in an e-mail with the message, "I am a legal adult ( 18+ ) & wish to enter this contest".
- Put "ROBIN THE BOY WONDER'S NEW WEBSITE" in the title.

Now, don't forget to include your full name / address, the message, & the correct title. If you have done all of these 3 things correctly then you'll be entered and on June 21st, 2009, at 11:30pm Central Time, we will randomly pull a lucky winner's name out of the hat! The winner will be announced right here on the bat-Blog the very next day. Plus, remember, after you enter the contest you need to visit Burt Ward's new website to see what special events are going on over there too! Thanks.

Recently, the webmaster who works for Burt Ward, the actor who played "Robin The Boy Wonder" on the 1966 Batman TV Show, contacted me to ask if I could please help promote their new website. Now, think about it, your real-life childhood hero asks for your help and the ONLY logical answer can be, "Heck Yeah, I'll do it!", ha ha. I mean, I don't have direct access to Burt Ward but he does have to approve everything & the 1960's TV series was my total entry into the world of Batman, which I obviously love. So, Duh! It's a no-brainer...I'm gonna help Robin, ha ha!! All kidding aside, it really is a true honor. I'm actually grateful to help in any way I can. Now, here's the deal, Burt Ward recently upgraded his website with a total new look, fresh content, & new products to purchase. He's not doing the "Comic Book Convention" circuit that much these days but you can still get autographed 8 X 10 photos of him now through his website, both color and black & white. He also has signed-copies of his bestselling book "My Life In Tights" & Autographed Hot Wheels of the 1966 Batmobile Car. I also want to announce that soon, right here at the Bat-Blog, we're gonna be starting a new Bat-Blog Contest where you can win a few autographed items. We're not saying which ones they are right now, that's gonna be a big surprise. But please stay tuned for more information about this in the very near future. It's gonna be SO AWESOME that you're NOT gonna want to miss it!! One last thing, please go visit Burt Ward's website, ROBINTHEBOYWONDER.COM!
As all Bat-Blog Readers know, we have teamed up with Burt Ward, The Boy Wonder himself, to promote his new website ROBINTHEBOYWONDER.COM! Burt was extremely generous & gave us a few autographed items to give away as prizes. Well, late last night, at midnight, we randomly picked the lucky winner of our latest Bat-Blog Contest right out of a hat! This is our 3rd contest for this event & we will be having 1 more pretty soon. So, keep an eye out for that because it's the very last prize! Now, the winner of the BOY WONDER, MY LIFE IN TIGHTS Signed-Autographed-Copy Book is...Jeff R. of Sherman Oaks, CA!! Jeff, please be sure to contact us to confirm your mailing address & then we will get this book straight to you! It's an awesome read & I know, as a Batman Fan, you're gonna totally love it!! I wanna thank everybody who entered this latest Bat-Blog Contest & I promise that the next one is one you will NOT want to miss!! So, please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for more information. In the mean time, please be sure to visit Burt Ward's Brand-New Website. Here's a link button:
Well, it looks like Adam West revamped his personal website & one feature of it is a STORE area where you can buy autographed items. He has his biography paperback book titled "Back To The Batcave" on sale, signed of course. Then there's a brand-new DVD movie called "Adam West Naked". Here's what the site says about it, "A brand new 2-Disc DVD produced by and starring Adam West. It contains over 3 hours of footage in which Adam goes episode by episode, recounting his personal memories and telling never-before-heard stories about his experience creating the iconic 1960’s Batman TV series. Amusing and intimate, this DVD immerses fans in the world of the classic Batman series in unparalleled depth. The classic Batman speaks alone to you, the viewer, in a variety of amusing settings, whispering in the attic, or astride an imaginary horse at his home. This DVD is a must for any true Batman fan. It will be signed and personalized on the DVD jacket any way you wish." Now, the DVD movie sells for $50.00 which isn't too bad considering that it's both autographed & has about 3 hours of wacky entertainment. Oh yeah, you can visit his site by clicking HERE!
HOLY WEBSITE PROMO, BATMAN!! The BAT-BLOG is still teamed-up with ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER! OK, not the actual character but the actor who played him in the 1966 Batman TV Series, Burt Ward! For the next few weeks we'll feature a few different contests to help promote Burt Ward's brand-new website. It's called ROBINTHEBOYWONDER.COM & it has a lot of neat information, trivia, & merchandise. Plus, right now, it's about the only place to get Burt Ward-autographed items because he's taking a break from the whole comic book convention circuit thing. While there you can find many signed items like photos, books, & even some Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Cars. You might remember last week we gave away a signed-copy of his bio-book, "Boy Wonder, My Life in Tights". This week we're giving away an Official Black & White 8 X 10 Photo that has the authentic "Burt Ward - Robin" Autograph! Now, please excuse my bad picture here but this Bat-item up for grabs is really an extremely sharp, very nice quality, photo showing the "Behind The Scenes" antics from the making of the '66 TV Show. Remember the classic skit where Batman & Robin were climbing up the side of a Gotham City building? They did that by walking on a fake building facade that was on the ground with a background of the sky turned sideways. The camera was also turned on it's side creating the illusion that they were "GOING UP the building". Yes, I know, ha ha, great stuff! This photo shows the set, actors, camera crew, & even the wires that helped to keep Batman & Robin's capes "falling down" ( they had to make the capes look like they were draping down from the gravity )...very cool! Now, here are the simple rules: Just e-mail us your full name / address with the phrase "ROBIN THE BOY WONDER B&W PHOTO" in the title. The contest will run until Sunday, June 7th, 2009 & will end at 11:30 pm Central Time. Then, the next morning a winner will be randomly drawn & announced here on June 8th. Please keep in mind that this contest is separate from the previous one so you have to enter again if you wanna try to win this photo. Also, unlike the signed book, this contest is open to everybody. Click on the e-mail button to send us your entry & then afterward be sure to click on the "Robin, The Boy Wonder" button to visit Burt's new website!

OK, I feel kinda sad this morning because this is the very very last prize we'll be giving away in a series of contests we've been having lately. For the last few weeks ( a little over a month actually ) we have been giving away some really cool "Robin, The Boy Wonder" prizes. The reason for this is because we have been promoting Burt Ward's brand-new website. I seriously can't believe that Burt Ward's team contacted us to ask for help in promoting his new site. Plus, he's been extremely generous by giving us some amazing items to give away! We have awarded a few lucky Bat-Blog Readers with 2 Signed-Copies of his Tell-All Paperback Book & 2 Really Nice Quality 8 X 10 Photos ( Autographed ). This last contest is for one of those photos. So, I'll get right to it! The winner of the Autographed 8 X 10 Color Photo of Robin, The Boy Wonder ( from the 1966 Batman TV Series ) is... Rod P. of Bentonville, AR. Rod, you lucky devil, please contact us so we can confirm your mailing address & then we will be mailing you this very cool collectible! But...for everybody else, don't fret! Longtime Bat-Blog Readers know that we are always having these wacky contests with great prizes so please be sure to watch out for the next one coming up soon! We have some totally amazing items already lined-up that you will not want to miss out on! One last thing: First, I wanna thank Burt Ward for making a dream come true for this life-long Batman Fan in getting to work with you & I appreciate all the awesome pieces of "1966 Robin" merchandise you donated for this event. You make a lot of fans really really happy! Thank you. Second, I wanna thank all the readers who joined in on all the fun. It's been really wonderful getting all the e-mails the way we did. A ton of people joined in & I wish everyone could have won. But, that's the deal with contests...sometimes you win & other times you don't. But remember, you're ALL winners in my book!! Whoops, I almost forgot to mention. Please be sure to visit Burt Ward's brand-new website, here's a link button to check it out!
