BATMAN CUSTOM TOY: Mr. Potato Head is The Caped Crusader!

In the last few years Hasbro has totally revamped their Mr. Potato Head toy figure line by making him into licensed characters. There have been ones of The Transformers, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, KISS ( Rock Group ), Santa Claus & they even recently starting doing Sports Teams. But because Mattel has the license to exclusively make Batman figures they will probably NEVER make one of our favorite Dark Knight. Well, that's a total shame because check out this amazing BATMAN Custom Toy done by our friend Matt! One night Matt & his 2 brothers decided to totally customize some Mr. Potato Heads. He chose to make one of Batman. I really love this figure! Not only is it very well made but it's also a great version of the Silver Age Batman where he's wearing the blue/gray uniform with the yellow-oval bat-symbol. I wanna thank Matt for sending in these cool pics plus say, "Good Job!". I also want to invite any other creative Bat-Blog Fans to send in examples of their artwork.

Vintage BATMAN MEMORBILIA & TOYS From Around The World!

I know that the Bat-Blog has kinda been crazy with the Halloween Holiday lately & we have been neglecting the toy collector aspect of the blog. So, here's a post to make up for it, ha ha! Here's a really nice example of a few pieces of Bat-Memorabilia made in different parts of the world. The 1st example comes from the United Kingdom ( England ) & is the Original Bubble Gum Wax Wrapper for a Set of 1966 Batman Trading Cards. Oh man, I am totally crazy over those vintage-style graphics...awesome! The next item might appear to be French but it's not from France. This is a Batman Board Game from Canada! It was made by Hasbro in 1973. OK, the last 3 pictures are a Set of Japanese Batman Canvas Sneakers. These shoes, of course, are from Japan & came out around 1966. The original shoe box is shown here with the product & it's equally as cool! Again, the graphics are just totally beautiful. Do you live outside the USA? RARE Vintage 1960's BATMAN TV SHOW TOYS!!

Now it's ONLY my personal opinion but I think some of the best Vintage Batman Toys made were during the 1966 TV Show series. I think maybe because that's what I grew up with & it's where my childhood memories are. Of course, younger collectors like the toys from their childhood & that's either the 1989 Batman Movie or the Batman Animated Series, which I really love too. Here are some examples of the great stuff made in the 1960's!! The 1st photo is the MAGIC-MAGNETIC GOTHAM CITY PLAYSET made by REMCO. This vintage Batman toy was HUGE & had buildings, figures, etc. It's also pretty RARE as I have never seen one! This photo was sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader named Jake ( Thanx Jake! ). The 2nd picture is a wonderful store display card selling Batman Combs. This is a beautiful masterpiece of ART & deserves to be in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, ha ha!! The last item is, of course, the classic 1966 Batman Boardgame made by Hasbro. This is one of my favorites because the actual game board has such cool artwork, worthy of framing. They really designed this one very well as they usually stamp some kind of generic art on these. Vintage 1960's BATMAN TOYS From The 1966 TV Show Period!

Even though I enjoy ALL the many different pieces of Batman Memorabilia that's out there, from the past to the present modern-day, some of my favorites are the ones from the 1960's when the 1966 TV Show was popular. Here are some examples. The 1st photo is an extremely RARE Batman Slide Puzzle, Mint on Original Card. As a little kid I remember enjoying these a lot but most of the time they were very frustrating, ha ha! The next item is pretty RARE also. It's a Stardust-Batman Paint-By-Numbers Kit made by Hasbro, still in it's original box. It had 2 velvet-canvas pictures that you could paint with acrylics...groovy! The last photo is a Bat-Fan favorite. It's the Flying Batman Figure by TransOgram. Basically it's a vaccum-molded glider in the shape of the Dark Knight himself. It had a launcher with a rubber band to shoot him into the air. As a vintage toy dealer I have had a few of these & they are always wasted! The plastic they used to make it was very fragile & always cracked from use, very hard-to-find in mint shape. I know that many of you readers probably have some RARE 60's or 70's items so please send us a photo if ya have one. The Bat-Blog is all about sharing our love of the collecting hobby.

Nice Group of Vintage Batman Toys 1960's & 1970's

The BAT-BLOG is mainly about the Joy of Collecting Vintage Batman Toys & recently I have been going off in alot of different directions with the posts ( Tattoos, Original Art, Wallpapers, Humor, etc...) so I thought today I would re-focus on the vintage toys! The 1st pic is a wonderful Vintage 1960's BATMOBILE TIN TOY CAR from JAPAN. I mean, literially from Japan! A loyal reader of the BAT-BLOG sent me this photo & his e-mail was totally Japanese! I had to use some Translation Software just to read it, ha ha! I almost cried when I saw the photo. This thing is Super-RARE & sooo beautiful that it's almost an art masterpiece! It has the original box, which I wish the pic showed more of, but it's still a great photo. Thanx Keijn! The next item is a 1966 BATMAN PAINT-BY NUMBERS that was made by Hasbro & is still shrink-wrapped! The 3rd photo is a nice Corgi BATMAN ON BAT-BIKE Diecast Toy. It's in MINT condition with beautiful stickers on both sides. The last picture is a really RARE BATMAN ROAD RACING SET slot car set made by AHI. It featured 2 slot cars that were the Batmobile with Batman & a Jokercar with the Joker! The graphics on this HUGE box are really wonderful & have that great "vintage look" about them. I hope these awesome vintage toys make-up for the fact that I haven't posted any for a little while. The BAT-BLOG is known for diveristy & that's what we try to do, enjoy! BATMAN Custom Mighty Muggs Figure with Display Box

A friend sent me some photos he found on eBay. A seller named "Fuller5326" recently offered a Custom Batman Mighty Mugg Figure & it looks extremely cool. Not only is the figure pretty awesome but he also created a special display box for it that looks just like the real deal, a great parody! Now, as sort of a back story, Mighty Muggs are made by Hasbro but Mattel has the exclusive rights to Batman so Hasbro will never make any DC Comics characters. Right now they're making Marvel Comics ones & people have wondered when they're gonna do DC...there ya go. So, a lot of people who are totally into creating custom toys are making these, they're really interesting. I really like it when Batman Fans get totally creative so if you have any pictures of your art projects then please send them in.
