Zdravko's Favorite BATMAN MEMORIES

Here at the Bat-Blog we have a good friend named Zdravko. He recently came across some great Batman-related photos while looking through some old family pictures. The 1st one shows him as a little boy standing next to a special Batman Birthday Cake that his Dad had made for him...that's cool! His Dad did a great job because the cake looks really nice. The 2nd photo is from his Baptism as a small child. His Mother is carrying him in Church. In it, you can see he's holding a Batman figure. Yes, he took Batman with him! The photo is from the mid-1990's & the toy is actually a Topps Bubble Gum Candy-Filled Hard Plastic Figure that was made around the time of the BATMAN RETURNS movie. I have one of those, how funny! Thanks Zdravko for sharing these wonderful photos, they're both very awesome! As always, I want to extend an invitation to all Bat-Blog Fans to please send us your "Bat-Memories". Our e-mail button is always at the top right-hand side of this page.

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie BAT-POD Birthday Cake!

OK, Here's a photo of a pretty cool Batman Birthday cake that sort of cracks me up, & really impresses me with it's inventiveness, all at the same time! It was made to look like the Bat-Pod Motorcycle used in THE DARK KNIGHT movie. As you can see in the above photo, the wheels are made out of 2 cakes put together. In fact, I think the whole thing is actually edible! Either way it's really cool. I wanna thank our friend Lauren for sending us this wonderful photo. Plus, I want to invite any Bat-Blog Fans who have had a Batman Birthday Cake in the past or present to send us some pics of yours.

Xavier's Cool BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Birthday Cake!

Our good friend Xavier recently had a birthday & he got this extremely awesome Batman Birthday Cake. Oh man, I am so jealous! Seriously, this thing is so cool! It's the version of Batman from the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD animated series, which is great because I really love that TV cartoon. OK, just for fun, I made a Batman Wallpaper of the image from the cake ( I hope Xavier likes it but other Bat-Blog Fans can enjoy it too ). Oh yea, before I end this post I can't forget to tell Xavier, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Dude, I hope you got some cool stuff!"

If any other readers get any bat-cakes this year please send us some pics.

Bat-Birthday: GEORGE DZUNDZA Voice Actor

George Dzundza ( pronounced "ZUHN-zuh" ), was the voice of Arnold Wesker, the Ventriloquist on Batman: The Animated Series. He turns 62 on July 19th.

You might recognize him from other TV shows or movies. He was a regular on LAW AND ORDER, he voiced Perry White on the new Superman cartoons, & has been seen on current episodes of Grey's Anatomy. He also played across from Denzel Washington & Gene Hackman in CRIMSON TIDE.
Happy Birthday George!!

Eartha Kitt, TV's 1966 Batman Villain CATWOMAN, is 81 Today!

Eartha Kitt was born today on January 17th in 1927. Of course we all know & love her as Catwoman on the 1966 Batman TV Series but she is still going strong today...Happy Birthday Eartha Kitt!! In your honor we're gonna play this music video from 1962, I Wanna Be Evil.

Perry's BATMAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY CAKE Extravaganza!

One thing I love about doing the Bat-Blog is being in touch with lots of other Batman fanatics who are almost as crazy as I am, almost. But one of the coolest things is when they send photographic proof! Please check out the various Batman Birthday Cakes shown up above. All of these are cakes that our friend Perry has had so far. The years range from 1995 to 2008. Well, sounds to me like it's time for another one, ha! Have you ever had a Batman-themed party? Please send us some pics. They can be vintage, like from the 1960's, or modern day. I wanna thank Perry for sending these, they're great!

Cool BATMAN LOGO Birthday Cake...Party Time!!

Over at Facebook I have a friend named Lauren who recently shared some neat pics of her Batman Birthday Cake she had. The thing is really cool! There's a HUGE Batman Logo Symbol ( plastic topper ) on the top & a few other Batman-themed designs in icing all over it. Plus, the whole thing is black & bright yellow...extremely cool! Thank you Lauren for sharing these pics. I always love when cute girls are totally into Batman, that's awesome! If any other Bat-Blog Fans have Batman Birthday Party memories to share then please do. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Batman Birthday Cake of The 1966 Batmobile Car

Since today is Valentine's Day I thought I would post this photo of an extremely cool "1966 Batmobile Car" BATMAN Birthday Cake made by a very talented Girl named Michelle. She did an amazing job on it. Now I know that a "Birthday Cake" has absolutely nothing to do with Valentine's Day, ha ha! But this cake is so awesome I thought I would post it anyway!

PARTY!! The 7 Best Batman Birthday Cakes!

WOW! The Bat-Blog was recently mentioned in a post at the SUPERHERO-PARTIES website! They did a story on "the 7 Best Batman Birthday Cakes" & three of them were featured at the Bat-Blog at one time or another. That's awesome! The website was created to be helpful to parents who are trying to get ideas for superhero-themed birthday parties. I mainly like it because they feature a ton of wacky birthday cake photos. Stuff like: Superman, Spiderman, Harry Potter, Star Wars, & much more. Anyways, we're totally honored to be mentioned there & if you might be trying to plan a special Boy or Girl's Birthday Party ( or cool adult ) then please be sure to check out the site by clicking HERE!

BATMAN BIRTHDAY PARTY CAKE Circa 1980

Over at MySpace I have a friend named RUSS who was kind enough to allow me to use this vintage family photo he had. It shows him on his birthday with a very cool Batman Birthday Cake that I guess his Mom had made. This cake pattern is actually a very popular one made with a famous "Wilton Cake Pan" from that period. ( You could also use the same pan to make a Superman Cake, but who cares, ha ha ). I also noticed he's sporting a Bat-Symbol Logo T-Shirt too! The original photograph was time-dated Dec 80 so I'm guessing this is around 1980. Thank you Russ for letting me post this! I appreciate that because the main focus of the Bat-Blog is to share the love of the Batman character. Plus, you look so happy in the pic!

Eben's Special BATMAN BIRTHDAY CAKE - Party On!

I just got an email from a Bat-Blog reader named Eben. He has sent some stuff in the past, but this picture is extra special. I guess I will sort of let his letter explain it. This is what he wrote:
"I wanted to send a picture of the cake my wonderful girlfriend Ashley made for me this weekend. It's really special to me because she has never been very sure of her cooking skills and this was her first try at something like this. She's very proud of it and I love her for the effort."
Thanks for sharing this pic Eben. Yes, this cake is awesome!! Not only because it looks really cool but because the main ingredient is "love", aaahhhhh :) Please tell Ashley that she DID do a great job on it!

New BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Birthday Masks at Party City!

A reader of the Bat-Blog recently sent in these pics of his 2 sons. He said he got these Batman Party Masks at a place called PARTY CITY for $1.93 each! It's a Birthday Party Supply store & he said that besides plates, cups, napkins ( the usual stuff ), there were also some toy prizes like the Grappling Hook & the Batarang too! The neat thing about the masks is that they are not those flat die-cut paper ones they usually make but are sort of 3D plastic-molded ( He did say they were kind of cheap & flimsy but they're still awesome ). David said when he was returning home from the store he could see his kids in the backseat wearing the masks & seeing the "creepy eyes" was sort of weird, ha ha! I gotta admit I have always liked this "Birthday party" stuff because it's so unusual. Plus, it's kind of inexpensive & fun to look at. Now, these masks are totally great & I am going to have to buy a few of these! Thank you David for sending in the wonderful photos.

Happy BATMAN BIRTHDAY PARTY Wacky Fun Time Theme!

Alright, I know the title to this post is kind of wacky but I'm sort of poking fun at my friend James. You see, he just turned 36 & decided to have a "Batman Themed" Birthday Party this year. I'm talking decorations, cake, everything! Man, that cake is beautiful & it's making me hungry, ha! He said he thought it was unusual for a grown man to have a Batman birthday but I totally disagree, I think it's GREAT! My theory is you're only as old as you feel, so stay young! By now James has already had his party & I hope it was a good one. I wanna thank him for allowing us to share these personal pics, that means a lot. Plus, Happy Bat-Birthday James!! If any other Bat-Blog Fans party down "Batman-style" then please send us your pics. The Bat-Blog is all about celebrating the comic book character we all love & having fun doing it, thanks.

WHY SO SERIOUS?? Check out this photo of this extremely cool JOKER-themed birthday cake with little Joker cupcakes! When I first saw them I totally laughed because they're kind of funny but they're also very clever. I mean, this is a really great idea! The pic was sent in to us by a bat-friend named Carlos, who had them for his Batman Birthday Party ( Thanks Carlos ).

Remembering HEATH LEDGER Who Was Born Today on April 4th, 1979

Today, April 4th, would have been Heath Ledger's 29th birthday. He was born in Perth, Australia in 1979. This is his 1st birthday since his death & I thought it would be nice to do a small tribute. He was a great actor but was also a person who was loved by many. All the reports I have ever read said he was a really nice guy, that's cool. He will be missed. My warmest & most sincere thoughts go out to his friends & family members who must be having a really hard time today. Happy Birthday Heath!

Brodie's BAT-SPONGEBOB Batman Birthday Cake!

We love it when Bat-Blog Fans send photos from their life where they share family moments that involve the Batman character in some way. That always means a lot to me. Plus, these kinda pics are always fun & entertaining. Like, these wonderful pics right here. They feature a "SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS AS THE DARK KNIGHT" Birthday Cake that was made for a very lucky kid named Brodie. His Great-Aunt created this for him & I know that the main ingredient was "love" ( This ALWAYS produces the best cake, ha! ). The custom-design is very unique & clever. Just check out how they made his skinny legs, ha! I'm guessing that maybe they could not decide if they wanted a Batman Cake or a Spongebob one. So, they put the two of them together & got this great piece of ART. Like I said, very clever! Plus, just looking at it totally cracks me up! I wanna thank them for sharing these photos & also invite any other Bat-Blog Fans out there to please send-in their pics. Our email button is ALWAYS on the top right-hand side of this page.
