ORIGINAL BATMAN & BATGIRL COSTUME Auction Prices

Just the other day the original BATMAN & BATGIRL latex costumes that Val Kilmer & Alicia Silverstone wore in the BATMAN FOREVER Movie were sold on eBay by PROFILES IN HISTORY. That company always has some really amazing items & this was a rare chance to buy a piece of Batman movie History! The Batman suit sold for $55,000 & the Batgirl for $42,500 ( Silver Mask included ). These are wayyy out of my budget but were really nice to see! I hope the new owners end up donating these to a Museum because they are very historical pieces. PROFILES IN HISTORY Auction is Selling Some Amazing Batman Memorabilia

OK, This post is for all you "Millionaire Collectors" & is sort of in 2 sections. In one, Profiles in History is holding an auction on May 1st, 2009, where they are selling off a huge proportion of the Hollywood Wax Museum statues. These are the original wax statues displayed at the famous museum & there are a ton of great ones like James Dean, Lucille Ball, Wizard of OZ, Henry Winkler as The Fonz, John Travolta, Bob Hope, etc...way too many to list here but it's totally crazy how many there are! Included in that sale are life-size figures of 1989 Batman ( Michael Keaton ), '89 Joker ( Jack Nicholson ), & 1992 Catwoman From Batman Returns ( Michelle Pfeiffer ).








Now, the 2nd part of this post is about Profiles in History ALSO selling original movie props from another collection, sort of two-auctions-in-one. The Batman-related items in that sale include: a Screen-Used Cowl from Batman & Robin, Jim Carrey's Riddler Cane from Batman Forever, Val Kilmer's Sonar Bat-Suit Costume, 1966 Catwoman Cat-Suit & Belt ( Lee Meriwether ), Adam West's Tights, Val Kilmer's Panther Cowl, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze Costume & Freeze-Ray Gun ( sold separately ), etc...Both sales are spread out over a 2 day period & will surely have to be visited by many Batman Fans. This is sort of painful to see but it is a part of bat-history so here we go! This is the Original TV Commercial for the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER Movie Soundtrack as found on the VHS film release ( the music is kinda neat to hear again ). Also, in this video clip, you get you see Val Kilmer as Batman, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Jim Carrey as The Riddler ( Carrey was actually pretty decent as that character ) & Chris O'Donnell as Robin.

NEW BATMAN MOVIE BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

It's time once again here at the BAT-BLOG for "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" & I have to confess that I'm very proud to say that both of these Batman Wallpapers today were created and submitted by 2 Batman Fans. Check 'em out! The 1st one comes from our friend Pat. He made this image using many different photos of various BATMAN Movie Actors. You practically have the whole history of Bat-Cinema right here, a lot of fun! Then, the next one is from our buddy Sean Hartter. He's a very talented Graphic Artist who likes to create these fake "Vintage Movie Posters" of Batman movies we all wish would have been made. This one is styled like an old "Lobby Card" & features a young Linda Blair as BATGIRL. Yes, that would have been a crazy film! Thanks to everybody for their submissions. These backgrounds are AWESOME!
