I always like these kind of videos where they show some talented Comic Book Artist drawing. It's sort of soothing in a zen-kinda way. Yeah, just drawing. I know it sounds boring, like watching grass grow, but really it's very interesting to see how they make characters come to life, especially when they are really good artists. These 2 videos are the perfect example. This is Cameron Stewart inking a current issue of DC Comics' BATMAN & ROBIN. It's pretty cool that he's doing it "old school" with pen/paper & not doing it digitally on the computer which is quickly becoming the norm.

The 1st one shows the Dark Knight as sort of a Detective in a Film Noir setting. Yes, Film Noir! In the 2nd Comic Book Cover he looks like he is closer to being more Modern Day Matman. This morning DC Comics released the Original Comic Book Art Drawings for the covers to BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE, Issues # 3 & 4. They're both drawn by Andy Kubert & are totally cool! The 1st one shows the Dark Knight as a Pirate. Yes, a Pirate! In the 2nd Book Cover he is a Cowboy, AWESOME! Please be sure to click on them for larger (sharp) versions!

Tony Daniels' Art for BATMAN AND ROBIN # 3 Comic Book ( Variant Cover )

Here is the original black & white ink drawing by Tony Daniels for the new BATMAN AND ROBIN # 3 comic book ( variant cover ). The next picture is the colored version. BATMAN ODYSSEY #4 Original Comic Book Art by Neal Adams & Scott Williams

Here are a few previews of the artwork you'll see in BATMAN ODYSSEY #4. The pencils ( on the left side ) are done by none other than the Master himself, Neal Adams! On the right, you can see the finished inks done by Scott Williams...beautiful stuff!! I think it's pretty interesting to compare the two different images because it gives you insight to how the art looks in two separate stages. The pencils done by Adams are almost so perfect that they could be printed without inking, ha! But, the inks by Williams are great too. Please be sure to click on these images for HUGE versions that are really sharp, it's the best way to enjoy them.

Original Batman Comic Book Art - Major Splash page!

A good friend to the Bat-Blog, known as The BATFAN, sent us these 2 photos of a piece of original comic book art he has in his collection. It's from the DC Comics' SHADOW OF THE BAT # 87 comic book & is the splash page that went across pages 12 & 13. One picture is a scan of the actual comic book & the other is the original inked artwork...very cool! Be sure to click on each of the photos up above for larger, more detailed, versions. The pencils were drawn by Mike Deodato Jr &, at the moment, I totally forgot who did the inks, ha ha, sorry about that. BATMAN SUPERHERO Original Comic Art By Sergio Aragones!

Right now I am totally addicted to Facebook. Yes, I need help, ha ha! Actually it's pretty cool for communicating with friends & sharing information. Plus, I use it to spread propaganda about the Bat-Blog website. If you're a member there please click on the FB Button on the top right-hand side of this blog & sent me a friend request. Anyway, while surfing there the other day I came across this extremely beautiful piece of original comic book art that was posted by a fan of Sergio Aragones. You might remember Sergio Aragones from the pages of Mad Magazine or maybe you have read his Groo comic books. Personally, I have always loved his artwork. Beside just being a really great artist doing funny drawings I think a part of the appeal to me is just all the fond memories of reading his stuff when I was a very little kid. So, I thought I would post this picture as sort of a tribute to Sergio Aragones.

New NEAL ADAMS - BATMAN: ODYSSEY Comic Book Art

OK, yesterday I was pretty happy about the official announcement from DC Comics that the 1st issue of BATMAN: ODYSSEY will be coming out in July, 2010. Of course, this is the special project being done by the legendary Neal Adams and I mean HE will be doing it. Neal Adams is set to write it, pencil it, & even ink the first few issues! Now, he has said that because of time restraints he won't be able to ink the entire series, but it will be drawn ( penciled ) totally by him. This is super-great news! So, being all excited about this I searched the Internet far & wide to come-up with ANY new artwork that has been leaked. Now, the Bat-Blog has featured a lot of it in the past & that kept showing up in my searches, ha ha. But here's some brand-new BATMAN: ODYSSEY artwork I found!! It looks like there will be some action with MAN-BAT & why not? I mean, this is a character created by both Neal Adams & Frank Robbins in 1970. In another piece of original art we get to see is an interaction between Bruce Wayne & Alfred in the Batcave, that's cool! Then there's a splash page where Batman is getting shot by a high-powered rifle ( I feel sorry for the guy who did that, ha! ). Now, most of the art shown here are smaller samples but if you click on the very last one it is pretty BIG. In fact, I made it a Desktop Wallpaper you can use as a background. Or, at very least, just enjoy looking at it in high-def! Remember, stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for more future news about this highly anticipated comic book event!
