Some Bat-Blog Readers might remember awhile back, during "The Dark Knight" movie, we were one of the very very first websites to announce the Hershey's Reese's Chocolate Candy Bar "Win The Bat-Bike" Contest. Well, recently we were contacted by the person who won! Her name is Kathy & she's a Realtor. I can't believe it but she actually won! Here's a few pictures of it in her garage ( Yes, I'm jealous!! ). It's an MV AUGUSTA F4 Motorcycle totally customized with "Dark Knight Batman" graphics. The attention to details is totally insane. They even engraved ( or embossed ) the "Reese's Limited Edition" logo on the handlebars, ha ha! It's really an extremely beautiful batbike & Kathy must be pretty proud to own it. I wanna thank her for contacting us because it's kinda cool to learn who actually won the thing! Thank you Kathy ...Can I borrow it this weekend?
A friend of ours over at MySpace, named Andrew, sent me this cool photo of his Batman Memorabilia Collection. I spent some time checking it out & there's some really neat stuff here. He's got that "Reese's Candy Header Card for The Dark Knight Store Display", The "Batman Fleece Throw Blanket", some Action Figures, the Batman Pez, & much much more. Oh yeah, is that a plush toy of "Ace, The Bathound"? I think so!! Thanks Andrew for sharing this photo. I love to see other people's collections, that's awesome!
Oh man... a friend of mine, named Dave, sent me this photo the other day I think just to torture me, ha ha! He knows how I totally love the Batman "store display" items because of their rarity & beauty! This one is a HUGE Batman Candy Bar Store Display for the recent THE DARK KNIGHT movie promotion with the Hershey's Chocolate company. They made special Kit Kat & Reese's Candy Bars that were a tie-in promo. I seriously love the large header card with the photo of Batman about to punch you out...awesome! Thanks Dave, I hope you got me this thing as a gift!! I'm not sure why the picture is so small here but if you click on it you can see this baby in all it's glory, check it out!!
OK, Most Batman Fans in the USA right now know about the DARK KNIGHT Movie Promotion that General Mills is doing with their line of cereal boxes but keeping up with it is sort of crazy! Here's the deal. All of their cereal brands have some sort of Batman prize or premium in the box ( NO "mail-aways" right now ). There are 4 different areas to collect: 3 Mini-Comic Book Booklets, 4 Batman & Joker Figures ( 2 of each character ), 4 Spinning Tops, & 4 Disc-Shooters. The booklets & figures are sort of random & to complete a set is just luck but one neat thing about this promo is that you can get the 4 Spinning Tops just by buying one box of 4 different brands of cereal. In other words 4 cereal boxes each have 1 very specific SPINNING TOP just for that box. The 4 cereals are Fruity Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch ( I really like the flavor of this one, ha ha ), Lucky Charms, & Reese's Puffs. In later posts I will be covering the other premiums so look for those in the future.
Keeping up with all the new Batman Merchandise has been kinda fun. I can only imagine what's gonna happen when the movie comes out, it's gonna be THE DARK KNIGHT everywhere you go! Here's a neat TV commercial shown on TV recently. The quality isn't the best but it does give you a good idea of what it looks like. Hershey's Chocolate Company is doing a major promotional tie-in with The Dark Knight Batman Movie where they are having a contest called "FIND THE BAT SIGNAL AND WIN". As reported here at the Bat-Blog they will be making a special "Dark Knight Batman Candy Bar" that is gonna be the Reese's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups ( Check the Bat-Archives ). There will be posters, counter racks, display stands, all kinds of promo material with Batman all over it. I think the contest is giving away a special motorcycle, not exactly sure yet. They're being kinda secret about it right now but you can visit the Official Hershey's website by clicking the REESE'S BUTTON down below. OK, I bought one of THE DARK KNIGHT Reese's Peanut Butter Cups the other day that is in the shape of the Bat-Logo, ha ha! I had to take a picture to share here because it's kinda funny.
