"Animal rescue is one of my favorite causes. SAVED WHISKERS RESCUE does great work to save the lives of animals in need. Doing this painting for them was also a great excuse for me to illustrate a version of a character I love. It is a donation that I'm extremely proud of".

This is pretty cool. We got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader named Mike who wrote,
"I thought you might like this. This is a Batman poster I made of Alex Ross's rendition of Batman made completely of individually placed and overlapped Batman comic covers. It took me around 14 hours to do and the real size is 27 by 41 inches. I also did a superman one but this isn't Superman-blog so I'll keep that one to myself. Enjoy!".
WOW! 14 hours is some serious dedication!! But the overall effect is really awesome. We think you did a super-great job on this & if readers look very closely it DOES look just like Ross's artwork....great job Mike!! Really great!! Thank you for sharing this with the blog. Readers might have to click on the small picture up above for a larger, more detailed, picture...it's cool!
It's Wednesday again & that means FREE "Batman Wallpaper" at the BAT-BLOG that you can use as a background for a MySpace layout or add as wallpaper to your desktop. The 1st one is an awesome graphic by artist Alex Ross. I like how his "gimmick" is that he draws/paints superheroes as if they are true-life real people. His attention to detail is also pretty cool. The next picture is a crisp black & white graphic. It's the newer modern version of Batman with the simple plain bat-symbol on the chest ( I miss the yellow oval ) & the "Army-Style" Bat-Belt....cool. Be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for many more Batman Wallpapers. I mean, there's like fifty of 'em!! We also have a "Batman Wallpaper web page" that has about 40 more, the link is on the top-right side of the batblog.
I recently got a very nice letter from a Batman Fan in the Philippines named Nico. He sent these wonderful photos of 2 Custom Batman Mighty Muggs Figures he customized & painted to look like 2 different versions of the Dark Knight. The 1st one is styled after Jim Lee's artwork & the 2nd one is inspired by Alex Ross. I gotta say that they are both so totally GREAT that it's really hard to choose a favorite! Thank you Nico for sending these in, you did an amazing job on both of them. I think that if you had not told me about the different comic book artist's styles you used that I still would have been able to recognize their influence. Bat-Blog Readers, if you would like to see more of this very talented artist's work then please click HERE!
Our friend Loyal went & got himself a Set of "Batman and Superman" tattoos that are pretty sweet! Fans of the Comic Book Artist Alex Ross will instantly recognize his hyper-realistic art style here. The colors & shading look really great. Plus, these images are very iconic so that's cool! Thanks to Loyal for sharing his wonderful Bat-Tats. If any other Bat-Blog Fans get some ink done please shoot us a photo. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page. Rock On!

I finally felt kinda ok this morning so I decided to get something going on here! This is a photo showing a 1950 Studebaker Car that was customized by famous comic book artist Alex Ross. One of our Bat-Blog Readers, named Bill, sent us this photo showing a Black leather jacket he recently bought that has got some very cool airbrushed artwork of "The Joker" on the back. Bill wrote, " The jacket was made up of pictures from the huge Alex Ross art book that DC Comics put out awhile back. The artist that painted it was Jerry Brocko from A.F.D. (Air Force Design)." Wow! I was totally impressed the very split-second I saw this...the artwork is incredible! Thanks Bill for sending the photo &, if you can, please tell Jerry he does amazing work! Readers, I've included a link to Jerry's page so you can enjoy more of his work. Be sure to check that out but please remember to BOOKMARK the Bat-Blog before ya go!
This video is a short 2-minute interview with the famous comic book artist Alex Ross. In it he's discussing the graphic novel he painted called BATMAN: WAR ON CRIME. The main focus, really, is how he approached the visuals of Bruce Wayne. Alex's artwork is very realistic & highly detailed. ( Thanks Michael for sending this ).
Here's a graphic I came across the other day that was so beautiful I knew it HAD to be a special Batman and Robin Desktop Wallpaper Background here at the olde Bat-Blog!
